Need help! Numbers on Welfare expenditures and Corporate Welfare
I'm hearing a lot of whining lately about Welfare mothers and how it's not fair they get to stay home and do nothing while all us righteous taxpayers are out here working every day to support them.

 burns me up!

Anybody got a link to a Government site or decent articles? Maybe something saved on your hard drive... Anything! I need to shut this shit off before I blow my top.

1. I can't help you. But I really get pissed about people complaining about "welfare"
without considering how many tax breaks and welfare big corporations and oil companies are getting.

If any one has some numbers, I would appreciate it, too!

2. Go here
Corporate Welfare Information Center
"The $150 billion for corporate subsidies and tax benefits eclipses the annual budget deficit of $130 billion. It's more than the $145 billion paid out annually for the core programs of the social welfare state: Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC), student aid, housing, food and nutrition, and all direct public assistance (excluding Social Security and medical care)."
"After World War II, the nation's tax bill was roughly split between corporations and individuals. But after years of changes in the federal tax code and international economy, the corporate share of taxes has declined to a fourth the amount individuals pay, according to the US Office of Management and Budget." --Boston Globe series on Corporate Welfare

5. What they foret to include in that corporate welfare number
is the cost of protecting AMerican Corporate Interests overseas with the Military...

The cost of running Embassys which are nothing more than corporate outreach programs...

They don't include the cost of running the federal court system which is all about enforcing interstate commerce laws, patent laws, law suits between one corporation vs. another...

The cost of all the infrastructure that enables the free flow of goods through out the country....

The cost of the FDA, the EPA and all the other agencies that provide cover for corporate interests....
