wouldn't this tip off the terraists?

Iraq Agrees to Develop Security Timeline

Associated Press Writer

BAGHDAD, Iraq — U.S. officials said Tuesday Iraqi leaders have agreed to develop a timeline by the end of the year for progress in stabilizing Iraq, and Iraqi forces should be able to take full control of security in the country in the next 12 to 18 months with "some level" of American support.

Even as October marked the deadliest month for U.S. forces in Iraq this year, with 89 American servicemembers killed in combat so far, the top U.S. commander in Iraq said he felt the United States should continue to focus on drawing down American forces in the country.

3. Heh...did you read the NYT editorial calling for a timetable today?

Why didn't they support one last June when it could have made a difference in the withdrawal debate and vote?

7. I think I'm in a nightmare where the president keeps telling me that
Iraqis will 'stand up' within 12 months, that the situtation in Iraq is going 'well', that we're going to 'stay the course' as long as he's president, that timetables 'tip off the terrorists', etc. Then you read the 'news' and it just a repeat or a flip-flop of what he's been saying.

I'm so confused!

8. No, no CatWoman ...
it's the IRAQI leaders who are developing the timetable, not us. We're just simply agreeing with them.

See? Let freedom reign! Mission Accomplished! Stay the ... oops, ummmmm ... nevermind.

9. Don't worry -- once it's clear the Iraqis aren't hitting it,
the administration will stop talking about it. I give it five months.
