Earth 6,010 years old yesterday! Happy Birthday!!
Ah, World Net Daily. Aren't they fun?

Happy birthday, Earth
Creation occurred 6,010 years ago yesterday, according to book

<snip>

The book, now published in English for the first time, is a favorite of homeschoolers and those who take ancient history seriously. It's the history of the world from the Garden of Eden to the fall of Jerusalem in AD 70.

Of course, there will be those who disagree with Ussher's calculations of time – especially evolutionists who need billions of years to explain their theory of how life sprang from non-life and mutated from one-celled animals into human beings.

<snip>

"The Annals of the World" is a necessary addition to any church library, pastor's library, or any library – public or personal. The entire text has been updated from 17th-century English to present-day vernacular in a five-year project commissioned by Master Books. Containing many human-interest stories from the original historical documents collected by Ussher, this is more than just a history book – it's a work of history.

Special features:

* Important literary work that has been inaccessible in book form for over 300 years

* Includes CD of Ussher's Chronology of the World – full of colored charts, graphs, timelines, and much, much more

* Translated into modern English for the first time

* Traces world history from creation through A.D. 70

* Over 10,000 footnotes from the original text have been updated to references from works in the Loeb Classical Library by Harvard Press

* Over 2,500 citations from the Bible and the Apocrypha

* Ussher's original citations have been checked against the latest textual scholarship

* One of history's most famous and well-respected historians

* Spent over five years researching and writing this book

* Entered college at age 13

* Received his master's degree at age 18

* Was an expert in Semitic languages

* Buried in Westminster Abbey

4. I have a good, life-long friend that believes just that...
Earth, 6000 years old. Very FIRST generation of humans had agriculture. Noah had DINOSAURS on the ark, and they grew based on some odd s-curve to be huge and then die off.

This guy is my oldest friend. We joined the AF together. Talk and email all the time. He has a degree in Electronics Technology. And he believes the statements in the preceeding paragraph at THE TRUTH.

I can't grasp that...

6. Great library addition - need to get alchemy and blood-letting books next
And I hear that there's an excellent Flat Earth Geography Book, too.

Once these home-schooled children graduate they'll be great fodder for Bush's perpetual war machine. They won't have time to argue over evolution or creation with bullets whizzing past their heads!

20. And I suppose, since he did it 6,000 years ago
he put the light coming, for instance, from the Andromeda Galaxy precisely 6,000 light years out, to trick us into thinking it had been travelling for 2.5 million years.

These are the type of threads that are so much fun to watch over at FReeperville.

With all due respect to Archbishop Ussher, there are quite a few reasons I tend to regard Martin Luther's calculation of 3960 B.C. as a more accurate date for Creation.

Looks like Neanderthal man never existed. The last Ice Age never occurred, and the 7500 year old pottery must have been made by the devil.

Of course, it's entirely possible that God made the world yesterday and planted our minds with false memories of what happened before.

I wonder how he knows that did not happen?

One has to consider the possibility that the Earth could have been created with the appearance of age.

So God hid fossils and archaeological artifacts to trick us? My God isn't a liar.

Yes, indeed. Hell, I'd even go with just "debate". No reason to throw any semblance of science in where it isn't required.
