First, thanks to Jack Rabbit for his post to Limbaugh, this follows in the same vein and is what I am sending that useless asswipe of a human being tonight:


Mr. Limbaugh,

I have listened to your show off and on for years, since before you became as famous as you are now. I may be a liberal democrat, but I strive to hear all sides with an open mind.

I respected you as a worthy opponent, climbing the ladder and sucking in listeners like a snake oil salesman. Does not mean I ever really liked you though, but I did have some respect.

Not now. You see sir, and I am sure you will get many such letters, my wife has parkinson's disease. It has devasted us in some ways, even though she has yet to get as bad as Michael J Fox has (thankfully). Our hopes and dreams in life have that underlying cloud looming over us. Plans of retiring and seeing the world as most normal folks might, college graduation for my daughter someday, maybe her marriage, holding the grandkids...well you get the idea.

Now we worry over whether or not the day will soon come when I cannot work and have to stay home and take care of my wife, feeding her, helping her do the things you take for granted. She still cries at times over lost dreams - losing hope is a terrible thing.

She shakes. And she knows people notice it. They see her face move, her head shaking, and she is self concious about it all. She feels she was once a pretty woman who people looked at because of red hair and pretty green eyes. Now her vanity is slipping as she thinks they stare because she cannot control her head.

Your comments sir about Mr. Fox faking it were over the line, even for a nice guy like me who had no issue listening to the other side. I have lost any respect I ever had for you. It pains me to tears, which are falling as I type this up.

My wife is ill. You sir, are just plain sick.

I won't go on, though I could all night. Here is a photo of my wife, thankfully you will notice it is a still shot and she does not have to worry about people seeing her as someone faking it for attention (like who the fuck would want such attention anyway? Maybe you would - and that is why you said Mr. Fox was, because it is something you would think of doing for affect. How's that hearing of yours BTW? Still faking that??)

She tries hard for those little girls, but fatigue does get to her.

Her memory is having issues at times as well, might be the stress or the PD. She lost two cell phones in a week and a gift card for wal-mart we were going to use for groceries. A week after we got her new glasses I found them in the trash while looking for something else she lost.

It takes a physical and mental toll, and people like limbaugh just piss me off so bad I am ready to go out back and cut down the elm tree with steak knife just to release some stress.

Laughter is the greatest friend that we have.

my mini daschund has run around that tree for two years barking at, wore a path around it. He believes it to be some sort of squirrel altar or something. He stopped only once, for a week, when our jack russel was in heat and he was horny.

He is a legend around here, people just don't believe it until they see it. If he is outside all day, 8-10 hours or more, he will spend his whole day running around it barking. He is only 8 lbs, and the vet said he is about 3lbs underweight - though he gets fed plenty and the puppies he made weigh more than he does now. He just won't quit. There is even a path to the tree now he has worn. He is an inside dog really, but he will yelp at the back door first thing in the morning to run to the tree.

If we ever did cut it down, I think he would just up and die. He plays with a ball here and there, but only for a few minutes then runs back to the tree. He has jumped up about 4 feet and chewed the bark on it. How he does it I have no idea, he just leaps and climbs and bites.

My wife's PD is considered early onset; she was diagnosed in her late fifties.

It's so sad that people who suffer from terrible diseases that make planning for the future almost impossible. I can not believe that anyone who suffers from Parkinson's would ever go off meds, or exaggerate their symptoms, because just having the illness is already causing them great pain and mental trauma. Because of the life altering condition they must deal with, they would never use their symptoms to gain some imaginary advantage by garnering sympathy.

All Michael Fox, and your wife want, I believe, is the ability to live a normal life, not one filled with challenges that are difficult to meet. You and your wife have goals that are very common, facing life together, sharing a future, and watching your child blossom and thrive. Only a person completely devoid of empathy, or integrity, would make the hurtful claims that Limbaugh makes.

Bless you, and your wife. Please tell her that she is beautiful, and that her inner beauty shines through, as well. I think what the vile Limbaugh claimed is one of the most reprehensible things I've heard. Mrs. Straight Story, you are a beautiful, beautiful woman.

My best friend has just been diagnosed with PD and I'm worried sick about her. She is currently living with me while her house is being sold and she get enough money to buy a mobile home. I'll do the best I can to help while I am able but I am 83 and riddled with arthritis.

Of course, Limbaugh could give a shit. He's a highly paid Republican Party propagandist with absolutely no interest in or empathy for the problems of real Americans. His job is to insult, ridicule, descredit and attack anyone with the temerity to disagree with any element of the radical right, religio/corporate agenda. When that fails, he throws up a protective cloud of bullshit to confuse the rubes. He's nothing but a hired hit-man. Your life and your problems mean nothing to him. He was never worthy of your respect.

He only stands to lose. He knows it. Deep down, you and I know it. So he continues to put on his farce of a show, where all dissenting points of view are pre-screened for fallibility and graded on their ability to be conquered by his inadequate arguments. The truth is, he is beneath you. You don't need his show. I wish his listeners realized the same.

When it is broken down, the man is a contraindication of everything he prescribes, yet his listeners swallow it whole without checking the list of contents.
