Bush: "I will continue to make explanations."

In a vivid fusion of rhetorical brilliance and deep meaning, during his press conference, pResident
Bush talked about his desire to explain his Iraq policy to the American people.

"I will explain this to the American people. I will continue to make explanations."

For the love of all that is holy. Someone---any frickin one---grab the helm from this
deranged, out-of-control blathering fool. I'm beggin ya!!!

It's as if we're all watching a brazen, looney-toon ship captain--with a bottle of Chivas in one
hand and a pom pon in the other---steer us into a giant iceberg loaded with explosives.

Please. I can't take this any more.

Why is this man allowed to lead our country?

And I think he's full of shit on both counts.

This reminds me of a poem a learned while in college which describes dimson to a tee:

Excuses are tools of incompetence
Building monuments to nothingness.
And those who practice in their uses,
Are capable of nothing but excuses.

You MAKE excuses....you don't MAKE explanations.

At first, his brain wanted him to say, "I will continue to make excuses", because that is the reality.

However, he corrected himself at the last second, and managed to slip out "explanations".

to hear a single one. Why are we in Iraq? What does 'victory' mean when one is occupying a country? What is it that you want to 'win'? How can we be fighting and winning battles? Who the hell are we figthing? ETC.....
