4. A word about Richie "Rich" Tarrent
Aptly named the vile Richie is indeed the richest man in Vermont. But he's not really a Vermonter. His main residence is in Florida. He has run the most expensive and the most repulsive campaign in Vermont history. In fact, he's spent more per vote than any other Senate candidate ever. He ran ads accusing Bernie of everything from being on the side of rapists and child molesters to being (gasp) a radical. And what did all his bucks get him? Not jackshit; he's still 20+ points behind Bernie. Quite a few folks feel he was just doing what certain rich repuke Vermonters have a habit of doing- running a campaign to purchase an Ambassadorship.
