We need to make something clear to liberal voters about McCain
I keep getting it over and over from the most liberal of people: "I'm voting McCain in 2008."

This is from people who think Iraq was a terrible thing to do, that Bush is a horrible president who has squandered everything good about our country.

And you know how this happens? Deception. McCain is constantly cast as some kind of sensible moderate with loads of "integrity and courage and patriotism." Meaningless buzzwords.

Let's making something clear to the most potential swing voters for McCain in 2008: our fellow Democratic voters.

McCain voted to end habeus corpus rights

McCain voted to attack Iraq

McCain voted to continue to extend disastrous tax cuts

McCain has consistently opposed gay rights initiatives

McCain wants to send MORE troops to Iraq

McCain agrees with the most radical sect of the Republicans 90% of the time.

And the most effective of all zingers: McCain's politics are like that of Joe Lieberman's. And he was so bad we kicked him OUT of the Party.

We really need to get on to fighting McCain. Because if we don't, we'll end up with a Bush-lite in '08.

1. He's not Bush lite. He's Bush original. And isn't he against abortion?

I heard some of that McCain bullshit and I said he's weak on abortion.

6. Both are socialist-leaning
That's the worst part about the disinformation on McCain.

You have to blame the media too. It casts McCain as some kind of rebel "maverick" standing up to Bush.

5. I have heard some conservatives say this.
But, truthfully I think most see McCain as being WAY over the hill. He does not appear healthy. ANd, since 2004 he has just been such a kiss a**. No one sees him as a maverick anymore that's for sure.

8. McCain supports continuing the Iraq war
The vote is not relevant to moderates because most moderates do not see the vote the way the left does. The left has got to learn to talk to moderates in language they understand.

Otherwise your point is well taken. I do hear Democrats (not liberals) applauding McCain, although not as many as I did a few years ago.

10. Iwas a McCain supporter back in 2000. I really liked the Straight
Talk Express, and I was convinced he really WAS talking straight.

I don't need to read how he voted, or what he believes in. He totally lost any support of admiration I had for him when he started cozying up to Shrub, and that B Day pic really sealed it!

I lived in the South when ShrubCo destroyed his campaign in SC with those damn push/pull phone calls, and I remember all the dirty nasty things they said about John's wife. If he doesn't have the personal integrity to stand up for himself and his wife after all that, I know he'ssure no straight talker, and will simply do anything for an election!

Sorry John, you have NO CHANCE of getting my vote ever again!

11. What I dislike most about McCain is...
...he knows (like every other ’04 wanna-be and ‘08 presidential hopeful) that Bush and Cheney are war profiteering mongrels. They all know about PNAC and RAD yet never say a word about it.

PNAC should be common knowledge, a republican would never get close to the White House if Americans knew about PNAC.

The way I see it, they all let us down, but McCain is the worst because he was torn apart by these creeps we have in office, and then he kisses their asses.

13. In "Why We Fight" McCain actually admits that
what contractors-the government do "approaches" corruption. Yet I don't see any action on his part, do you?

My sister also used to really like McCain, and she voted Gore/Kerry. She's drifted from him a bit thanks to Bush I think.

She's now a Hillaryite >_>
