Cuban TV shows images of Fidel Castro
Fidel Castro appeared on Cuban state television for the first time in more than a month Saturday, walking and ridiculing recent rumors that he had died.

"Let's see what they say now," the ailing Castro said, calling rumors of his death "ridiculous."

2. Let's hope he gives it up soon
The Cuban people deserve a lot better than a totalitarian dictatorship.

6. I think Fidel has terminal cancer, and is "easing" out of power
or BEING eased out of power.

Whoever takes his place (Raul or someone else) will NOT be Fidel, so it makes sense to gradually change the "style", so that when the inevitable happens, they people will already be used to not seeing him on TV all the time or holding marathon "rallies"..

Don;t forget, European & Canadian companies are already THERE..and have been for a decade or more.

I see Cuba becoming just another Caribbean tourist spot, and the US will continue to hold its breath and turn blue in the face over squabbles a half century long.

the Miami Cubans (the first wave..the elites.. are dead now or very old) are not going back. Their children/grandchildren are AMERICANS.. They may go back to try and "reclaim" family treasure (long gone by now), but they would never return for good..

Thomas Wolfe said it best.. You cannot go home again.
