John Kerry and Ted Kennedy each gave a Million Dollars. What about Hilary?
John Kerry has been raising money hand over fist for other candidates and has donated several million dollars and just last week donated another million dollars as well as Ted Kennedy. HILARY CLINTON HAS BEEN RAISING MONEY HAND OVER FIST FOR HERSELF. WHY HASN'T SHE BEEN DONATING MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO HELP OTHER SENATE CANDIDATES.

17. No doubt about it..
Hillary has been the top donor to Dem candidates so far..

"The DSCC has $9.7 million in the bank. So far, the committee has raised $104 million for candidates. Those numbers don't reflect a pair of $250,000 donations from Sens. Edward M. Kennedy and John Kerry. It does, however, include the more than $2 million this cycle from Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton."

31. Actually that's not correct!
Hillary gave about $2 million recently, but hasn't contributed much more than that.

Kerry had already contributed more than $2.5 million to the Democratic committees; this additional $500K brings that total to $3 million.

Kerry has also contributed more than $12 million directly to candidates and Kennedy $9 million.

21. (shrug) Fine. Then I guess you just have a *general* disregard of...
... the truth.

As has been pointed out several times in this thread, Clinton has given 2-3 TIMES what you said Kerry gave. If you cared the truth, you could've looked that up yourself before posting.

Clinton gave that 2.5-3.5 million BEFORE the outcry over Democratic fatcats not giving enough. She didn't have to be shamed into it.

Could she give more? Of course. Should she? Almost certainly. But to compare her *unfavorably* to Kerry - on that score - is either a flat lie, or idiotically willful ignorance.

7. Please do some research before you smear.....
http://www.tray.com/cgi-win/x_candpg.exe?DoFn=S0NY00188*2006

If you look through her contributions 2004-2006 she has disbursed somewhere around 1.5 million directly to candidate PaCs. Another million to several 501c3 and 501c4. While harder to track, keep in mind that any event she attends are commonly used by those group to raise money. I'm sure she probably appears at 2-3 fundraising events PER WEEK.

One other thing you're overlooking. SHE'S RUNNING FOR REELECTION! John Kerry and Ted Kennedy are not. She can't afford to run around the country raising money, she's trying to show she can carry the Red Areas of New York too.

13. Yes, Ted is up for election
Hillary is carrying the state with something like 65% and wouldn't have to spend another dime to win. So perhaps you should do a bit more research as well.

And $1.5 million when she's raised $30+ million isn't much of anything.

from Boston Globe 10/21/06: http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2006/10/21/kerry_is_pressured_to_share_campaign_wealth/?page=1

Last month, when DSCC officials asked all Democratic senators for last-call financial contributions before Election Day, Senator Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts was among three lawmakers who donated $1 million each. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York signed a check for $2 million.

35. Are you askign for a challenge grant?
Sen. Clinton did give $2 million recently and, I think about $9 million or so overall to the effort. It should be detailed in her www.fec.gov site, as it is for all pols.

I believe she gave this a couple of weeks ago. Sen. Kerry had previously given around $13 million through direct grants and through fundraising through his emails appeals and so forth. This money is in addition to what he had already raised.

I do not know who else has decided to donate more money. I would hope that some of it goes directly to the candidates, since I think they hire better ad makers than the national people do.

But she has given several million to candidates and PAC's. Not only that, but Big Dog is campaigning in some tough races--it costs some major cash to travel all over the country lending his personna to try to help Democrats win in the tightest of races.
Can we stop skewering her now cause I am not sure exactly what else you want her to do?

40. Actually to be exact, each gave $500,000 for a total of $1 million.
That was last week.

Hillary gave $9 million plus kicked in another $2 million last month, totaling $11 million from her war chest. She and Bubba have been doing fundraising for various candidates across the country. Kennedy has donated $1.5 million of his own money and Kerry $3 million from his war chest, and both also have been raising bucketloads of money for candidates across the country.

It's all good.

disbursement isn't the same as a contribution to candidates. It simply means she paid bills:

Clinton's PAC (nearly all wages and administrative expenses):

Now one of Kerry's PAC (nearly all contributions to candidates):

43. They weren't disbursements, they were contributions.
"Sen. Hillary Clinton emptied her campaign account of more than $9M this quarter, pouring millions into Democratic Senate and House campaign committees and writing large checks to individual candidates."

http://hotlineblog.nationaljournal.com/archives/2006/10/hillary_clinton_2.html

And, then as AtomicKitten wrote, there's an additional $2 million on top of that.
