1. I'm guessing that's the 'War Horse' they're riding....
I told my folks about this cartoon over the phone the other day...

Truly a classic!

There was another one a couple of years ago, which had a Crazed Terror driving a
War Chariot labeled 'War'... Bush was riding on the back of the Chariot saying,
"Uh, I'd like to get off here". I wish I would've bookmarked it. It was very prescient.

2. ....and the horse you rode in on"
Great Cartoon! If you don't know the quote I supplied the ending to just put in your favorite obscenities direct at the GOP. The actual quote goes something like " F**k You and the horse you rode in on"

I also like the fact the horse is wearing blinders in the dark.

5. Not the same Oliphant
Although they're often confused. The cartoonist is Pat Oliphant, the commentator is Tom Oliphant (Boston Globe).

10. Is Pat a 2nd generation cartoonist?
When I was young, forty years ago, there was a political cartoonist named Oliphant who had seemingly been around for a good while. So I'm guessing this one isn't the same one. But is he related? Anyone know?

8. Waaahh! That's a Percheron. They don't deserve to ride a Percheron.
They should be riding a hyena, the *true* symbol of bush's war.

11. You sure it's not a Clydesdale?
They have a more curved or 'Roman' nose than a Percheron does...
but then a Percheron has a more mellow temperament.
A Clyde probably wouldn't put up with that crew...

nitpick...nitpick...nitpick...:freak:

12. I live near a Clydesdale ranch and have seen them many times.
Yup. I'm lucky :)

That was my thought, too, perhaps it's a Clydesdale. But for some reason I think it's a Percheron, a more stocky body. Of course, we're assuming that Oliphant knows the difference. Maybe it's a Percherdale, or a Clydeseron. Heh.

9. condi's up there squawking like
a crow.

This is a far cry from that "Four Horsemen Of The Apocolypse" political strip that someone did on these maniacs last year or whenever it was.

Now they're down to one horse.
