Democratic candidates should not concede until the final votes are in.
I've never understood why Dems would concede early. Any habit, or behavior that can be predicted can be used against the Democrats. So, if the Republicans expect the Democratic candidate to concede if they appear to be trailing by the evening of election day, what's to stop the Republicans out in the field to influence the count by holding back Dem ballots until the final end of the evening?

1. You're assuming Dems will lose.
I say they won't. But I agree with your basic point. Assuming any of them APPEAR to lose, they shouldn't concede until all the votes are counted and all recounts are over. It still pisses me off that Kerry conceded so quickly.

2. I'm assuming that IF the Dems lose, it will be due to Republican
shenanigans.

4. Fair assumption. But I'm hoping we'll beat 'em by too much
for them to cheat.

5. "Graciousness has never ever ever corrected fraudulence."
That's what I wrote in regards to this matter to my senatorial candidate who's got a 5-8% lead over his incumbant opponant in a state which unfortunately has optical scanners in place.

6. You make it sound like only Republicans are election judges
Election judges are real people made up from the neighborhood and they are of both Parties. Nothing can be done without all parties aware of it. Guarding the votes is a "big deal" and they don't take it lightly. We don't have a lot to fear from the people counting the votes it's the damn machines that must go...

7. I don't agree.
I think there are numerous ways to influence elections and that before they were stolen electronically, that people were tampering with the system manually.

Do you really believe that election corruption only began with the appearance of electronic machines?

10. I think this statement has a lot of truth to it.
The last time around, the Secretary of State in Ohio screwed up the entire process by limiting the number of voting machines in precincts leaning toward Kerry. Morally wrong, but not against the law. The election before, it all came down to precincts in Florida using the butterfly ballot. I think that was a fluke of luck for Bush because not even the Democrats spotted the problem beforehand. Imagine where we would be now if all the people who voted for Buchanan by accident had marked there ballot for Gore instead! Neither election turned on actual fraud at the polls. The person involved in the most notorious dirty trick the last time, the guy who locked up the GOTV phone bank in Vermont ended up in jail. This time around, local Democrats will be watching like hawks. How will the Republicans find local operatives willing to commit a crime to steal the election in 20 or 30 districts scattered across the entire nation?

9. They should not concede at all in every district in this country they
should start legal battles to drive the repug monsters from power. No matter how bad they lose they should fight to show the corruption of the system. Until we show everyone that we will fight they will keep killing us. They are all enemies of my country and should all have to account for their criminal acts.
