4. Agree with you that the timing is highly suspect, but this verdict
will hurt the GOP by reminding voters that no matter the fate of Saddam Hussein, the current American president has bungled the show.

It gives Limbaugh and Hannity a stadium hotdog to wolf down in the late innings of a game that's already been decided.

Many voters will ask themselves which is greater -- the threat originally represented by Saddam or the incompetence since exhibited by the Bush administration?

I think the Republicans come up losers on that one.
