Delay's replacement accused of campaigning in a polling place
http://www.statesman.com/news/content/news/stories/local/10/28/28SugarLand.html

Texas Democrats said Friday that they want prosecutors to charge Republican congressional candidate Shelley Sekula-Gibbs with a misdemeanor, claiming that she broke state election laws by campaigning inside a Sugar Land polling place Thursday.

Chad Dunn, general counsel for the Texas Democratic Party, said Democratic poll watcher Jane Borden Matcha watched Thursday as Sekula-Gibbs wandered through the early voting location at First Colony Conference Center and introduced herself to voters.

Sekula-Gibbs acknowledged visiting the polling place to campaign Thursday but said she stayed at least 100 feet from the door, as required by law. She went inside briefly to use the restroom, she said, and inquired about voter turnout. "I just said to the person there, 'I'm Shelley Sekula-Gibbs. How's turnout?' " she said. "I did not approach any voters."

Sekula-Gibbs is mounting a write-in campaign to win DeLay's former seat in the 22nd District, which stretches through four counties south of Houston. She faces Democrat Nick Lampson and Libertarian Bob Smither.

4. Wasn't she the one who was worried voters wouldn't remember her name?
Guess this was her solution.
Go out there and introduce herself as they are actually writing her name down...surprised she didn't hand out/drop off business cards on her way to the "bathroom'. Next time cross your legs, lady, and stop by the local McDonald's to relieve yourself.

And for the record, if a Dem's name was "too hard" to remember and it was someone I really wanted to vote for, I'd write his/her name on my hand to refer to as I voted. Sounds like she is just looking for excuses
for post-election when her ass is whooped.
