Will Boehner try to execute a short, sharp non-apology apology?
all depends on whether the media choose to leap upon his comments the way they followed their RNC blast fax orders following Kerry's

that's not going to happen, but if dems apply enough pressure, perhaps he'll be forced to say something.

if he's smart, he will, but since pugs NEVER, EVER apologize, it may work in dems' favor, as they can juxtapose Boehner's quote with this one, from the chimp, via whitehouse.gov:

''And that's the way I will continue to conduct the war. I'll listen to generals. Maybe it's not the politically expedient thing to do, is to increase troops coming into an election, but we just can't -- you can't make decisions based upon politics about how to win a war. And the fundamental question you have to ask -- and Martha knows what I'm about to say -- is: Can the President trust his commanders on the ground to tell him what is necessary? That's really one of the questions. ''

1. He Won't Apologize
Kerry was able to "apologize" for the ambiguity of the statement - because it was ambiguous.

Boehner's statement was not ambiguous - he'd have to apologize for a pretty fundamental fuckup - AND, the inverse of his statement is that Rumsfailed IS to blame - not a pretty picture.

3. how are things in Oceania?
don't poke your head up too far, for too long

and you're absolutely correct about the substance of both men's statements. Boehner, should he be forced to deal with what he said, will be in deep squat

2. Anderson Cooper just showed Boehner's gaffe
but that was about 30 seconds' worth of mention, around which has been wrapped the Kerry story

what a surprise

now, John King, showing DEMS criticizing Kerry!

that guy is at least as disgusting as the Human Refrigerator
