Agree or disagree?

Do you agree or disagree with this position?
==================================
Democrats Never Learn

<snip>
A retired fighter pilot once called our show and said what the Democrats need to learn is the old Top Gun motto: Turn into the fight!

John Kerry's joke about the president -- which was twisted for propaganda purposes by the Republicans -- was an ... opportunity! It was an opportunity for Democrats to bring up every error that Bush and his Republican enablers in Congress have made -- and then demand an apology to the troops for those actions.

Anytime a reporter asked about Kerry's remarks, every Democrat should have started the sentence with the words, "Let me tell you who has to apologize to the troops, these Republicans in the administration and Congress for what they have done..."

Then you can go on to talk about sending the troops into war without a plan, or proper equipment or competent Secretary of Defense or any justification whatsoever. Or their votes against veterans when they return from the war. The Republican Congress turned down a measly twenty million dollars to help veterans recover from traumatic brain injuries. That's less than what the Iraq War costs in two hours! These guys nearly had their heads blown off by IEDs and the Republicans turned down their treatment. How's that for an insult to the troops?

2. Right on!
I was glad to see Kerry come out and "yell" at the Repugs, but he didn't get much backing. They did a good job on Kerry. Now, we need to do a good job on this corrupt administration on Nov. 7th.

Go, Dems!

3. I remember when the GOP purged its liberals in the 70s.

It looked a lot like the Demcratic Party does now. Passive-agressive back-stabbing and some not so passive-aggressive. Using a 'leadership' clique to embed global corporate interests above all else. Absolutely no concern regarding the postures taken by those running under and getting funding from the "R" banner. Pandering to every bigotry and hate group.

Two words: Ben Nelson. He's worse than EVERY 'moderate' right-winger.

This is the shit that makes me a dedicated independent. The working class (LABOR!!) is getting fucked royally. EARNED income is taxed at DOUBLE the rates of UNEARNED income ... and heir-heads, like idiot, despotic princes of old, pay NOTHING.

4. Oh, I agree!
It wasn't Kerry that started the shitstorm. I'll admit my first reaction was :banghead: when it hit. But, after the initial gut reaction, I found out the facts.

So far, Ford was the only that I've seen who handled it with ease and finesse. He got free publicity (EVERYONE wanted a live interview with a spotlighted Democrat criticizing John Kerry!), and he hit back at the enemy by saying we need to talk about issues. I certainly didn't hear him call John Kerry's remarks "inappropriate".

Kerry put guns and ammo into the hands of every Democrat...the candidates AND the surrogates/supporters/volunteers. Instead of recognizing it, instead of getting into the head of the enemy in this fight, they let the enemy get into their heads.

5. I agree completely...
If he would have stayed on the offensive, and all the other Democrats had joined him, this thing would have led to the biggest midterm landslide in American history. I've been livid about this since it happened. I'm sick of the fucking triangulation and bet-hedging by the Democrats. And when Kerry issued an apology late yesterday afternoon, he guaranteed another 24 hours of coverage - at least. AND gave the Republicult the upper hand. Dammit, who advises our Democrats? Are they all so inside the beltway that they've lost all common sense?

7. Too right
And it breaks my heart to think how easy this election might be to take from the Repugs if the Dems WOULD learn.
