In order to meet recruitment goals and even though the Army has doubled the sign-on bonus to $40,000 and extended the allowable recruitment age to 42, it seems Army recruiters still have to "lie" to candidates in order to get em' to sign on the dotted line.
Lies like this:
"War? Its not a war. They never used those words. We haven't declared war."
"Will you be going to Iraq? Pffff, heck no, no one's going to Iraq. In fact we're bringing them home."
"Hey look, if things don't work out in training you can go home. We call it a "failure to adapt" discharge. And it won't be held against your record or anything."
