so that explains why Clinton came out for the filibuster...
Wow, It takes real courage for Clinton to come out for a filibuster after Akaka, Dorgan and Snow came out against it, thus ensuring there WON'T be a filibuster. What a political hack she is.

She's on the correct side on this one. Let's leave it at that.

7. I agree.
The reasons for her support are not an issue for me at the moment, there is too much to do to get that mired in it. Support her for this decision, right now it is one minute and one Senator at the time.

I don't support all of her votes or statements, but I do heartily support this one!

Give me a break.

Just pointing out that you are essentially criticizing your Senator for doing what you wanted her to do.

31. She's my Senator too and although I don't agree w/ her 100% of the time...
(and certainly let her know it) this time she's stating that she'll do the right thing, I'm thrilled that she is and she'll be getting an email from me saying "thank you" for taking a stand against Alito and for the filibuster.

9. I have posted against the filibuster in the past
because I knew it wouldn't work. But I agree with Reid that senators can vote for a filibuster just to show how strongly they disagree with Alito. I appreciate Hillary doing so. I hope some who said they wouldn't vote for a filibuster change their minds. I think it's great to flip-flop if you have a good reason to do so. That's just what I did on the idea of a filibuster.

10. Actually, that tells you how powerful we really are out here in
the blogsphere. Yesterday, her staffers were telling callers that there wasn't going to BE a filibuster. Then Kerry steps up to the plate, and now she's on board. No, I'm not going to criticize her. Good for her, for her change of heart.

or we all demanded they declare where they stood. this is where she
stands. she had to declare along with dorgan and the others. or is she suppose to keep her mouth shut for you so you can criticize her for that. or is she suppose to say she wont vote no on closture, so she doesnt get your criticism just now. wtf

18. oh, do you know me?
I happen to have been a huge Clinton fan until she became a shill for centrist ideology, showing no leadership or anything but an amendment against burning the flag. Let me repeat, I am not a Clinton basher, but on this subject, she should have been in the forefront. That's what this New Yorker expects from her senator.

13. Maybe so, but it's still a good move
rather have SOME Democrats showing spine (even if it's just for political traction in 2006/2008) than the one's supporting Alito's nomination or cowering in the corner.

19. What she's doing has nothing to do with Dorgan and Snow. Wake up
The country will know her position on Alito, filibuster or no filibuster, and they know she's against his confirmation. She's knows very well that the right wing will use this against her as a future talking point even if there is no filibuster, so your theory is simply baseless and counterproductive.

Why anyone has to interpret this as some sort of self-serving political move is beyond imagination.

This pretty much shows how absurd the criticism of Hillary Clinton on DU has become. It doesn't matter what she does, there will always be DUers attacking her.
