be on the winning side for once, and so I switched my party allegiance to Republican. But I'm not gonna bother to vote, of course. The machines can take care of that for me. Automation is getting to the point that we don't have to send actual humans into either wars or elections. Just let the machines do it for us. in the fact that Lefty's, won't do anything but whine and protest after the fact and they are no longer bothered by that--it's not threatening to them. They know we're unarmed, and will not commit acts of violence over whats been done to us--to the whole fucking country. One thing, nobody will establish a discussion for a goal and plan of action in case there is election fraud. The OP is right, the media is inserting a basis to buy the BS result. And he says that we must vote overwhelmingly. Failing that, what...??? I don't feel it's negative to have a plan in case the worst happens again. It's proactive.

I think it's just a matter of seeing (positive) posts you agree with, and then moving on without comment. On the other hand, seeing yet another the-fix-is-in post gets you pissed-off enough to stop long enough to type a "give-me-a-fuckin'-break" response.

In these crazy down-to-the-wire days, a lot of us have the attention span of the average gnat. Unresponded-to does not mean not-agreed-with.

Can we get past this? Nothing I read here on DU is going to stop me from going to the polls, and if it stops anyone else, shame on them. Moreover not one of the leaders, such as exist, of voting integrity movements say anything other than "the surest way to NOT have your vote counted is to fail to show up and cast a ballot." I saw one say it last night on the MSM. People that care about this issue enough to open a thread on it, care enough to vote, no matter what.

However, anything that starts with "The Fix Is In" equates to "Don't Bother Voting". I think the VAST majority of DUers are onto this, and won't be taken in.

I just question what could possibly be gained saying something like 'the fix is in', especially now. If it has ANY effect at all - even on one lazy fence-sitter - it is destructive rather than constructive.

And I think we can all agree on which is the better course.

This has to stop. ALL THE MAJOR POLITICAL PUNDITS HAVE ALREADY SAID THE DEMS WILL WIN THE HOUSE BY AT LEAST 25-30 SEATS AND MAY VERY WELL WIN THE SENATE, BUT IT COULD END UP A TIE.

They are going to be "tried" no matter what they do in this election. Their game is UP.

Just what, exactly, do you propose that's not ALREADY being done? What's your fucking point?

I suppose I've run out of patience with Chicken Little running around my barnyard yelling "the sky is falling" and not even offering umbrellas. So, maybe we can get a few things straight.

(1) No matter how many folks fall off the turnip truck and 'discover' something that others have known for quite some time, this is not news. There are people, many on DU, who are doing everything they know how to deal with election fraud issues. It'd probably be more productive to engage in discussions regarding those efforts than run in screaming "The New Telephone Books Are Here! The New Telephone Books Are Here!"

(2) The polls will be closing in less than 48 hours. Unless there's something relevant to the issues and people at stake in that election, and some positive suggestion to better exert efforts in that regard, I'm doubtful that disruption of such attention is of any merit whatsoever.

(3) Is it at all unreasonable to expect that someone who identifies a problem offer some kind of proposal to deal with that problem and when? I don't think so.


On edit: Let's ALL try to remember that orderly and lawful civil action is NEVER the last resort. When every civil action is insufficient and the People are prevented from exerting their sovereignty over their own governance, then civil disobedience all the way up to and including bloody revolution are ALWAYS possible. It's said that a lawful election in a democratic society is a "slow motion" revolution. When it fails, the "fast motion" variety still exists. Indeed, the very threat of such an eventuality is the ONLY thing that keeps wannabe despots looking over their shoulders.
