Some amusing pictures about the last-minute GOP "surge"

November 6, 2006 -- Ken Mehlman boasts about a last-minute GOP "surge" but that is not very evident at the Republican Party's campaign headquarters for the GOP congressional candidate in Virginia's 8th district. The headquarters was amazingly quiet tonight on election eve. Mehlman's "surge" did not seem to be present.

it may be a bluff...it may be the GOTV kicking into high gear, but tonight is the last night and the last day of polling. If they can't pull ahead tonight, they aren't going anywhere fast.

11. Our local Pub headquarters is

very seldom open. Tonight when I arrived at our Headquarters there was 1 lonesome guy standing in the window. 2 hours later, when I left it was dark.

I did see 3 people over there once.
