Election Night Extravaganza
11/06/2006 12:32:58 PM ESTBy Cenk

On Tuesday night, we are going to have an Election Night Extravaganza on The Young Turks. We will cover the election from our perspective (and likely yours) and give our side a voice.
We will have the same results as all the networks at the same times. But if George Allen loses we will celebrate, sing and dance (well, dancing is optional). When Rick Santorum goes down in defeat it will be joyous. No matter what happens in all the tight races across the country, we will share the joy and the pain with you. It's liberal TV on the internet at www.theyoungturks.com .

We were planning to start coverage of the election at 7PM ET. But now Think Progress and Alternet have also joined our coverage, so we will start at 5PM ET and give you an hour of Alternet's election coverage through our studio and website. And then move on to Think Progress coverage from 6PM-7PM. And then start the official Election Night coverage by The Young Turks at 7PM ET.
We will interview candidates, Congressmen, Senators, reporters and bloggers from across the country. We will also have all of the latest news on the races and take your calls. Here's a list of just some of the guests that will be on the show that night:

General Wesley Clark
Former Senator Max Cleland
Adam Green, MoveOn.Org
Ari Berman, The Nation
Paul Reickhoff, President of IAVA
Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-NJ)
Melanie Sloan -- CREW
Dan Gerstein -- Communication Director for Joe Lieberman
Sidney Blumenthal
Rep Tim Ryan (D-OH)
Former CIA Analyst Larry Johnson
Eric Alterman
Robert Greenwald, Director of "Iraq for Sale"
Paul Kane -- Roll Call
Rep. Adam Smith (D-WA)
Hans Johnson, In These Times
Ari Melber, The Nation
Katrina Van Dan Huevel -- The Nation
McJoan, DailyKos
Alex Pareene, Wonkette
John Amato, Crooks and Liars
Brad Friedman, Bradblog

We will also have Congressional candidates from all over the country in tight races that we have interviewed throughout the campaign. They will check back in with us and tell us what went right and what went wrong.

Finally, we are not good in keeping our emotions in check. So, if the Republicans lose we will be elated. However, if they win and retain the House and the Senate, we will be tremendously disappointed and despondent. So, that gives the Republicans incentive to watch as well (they're still buying CDs of our 2004 election coverage).

Hopefully, 2006 will be different than 2004. It will certainly be interesting, no matter what. I can't wait for it. We hope you are all just as excited and we hope to see you on The Young Turks on Election Night.

2. I feel for you - my cable's out - so I'm streaming msnbc.com
Matthews is annoying as anything, but I think he's signing off in a while and it will be just Olbermann.
