Webb (VA), McCaskill (MO) and Tester (MT) -- I think we did it, folks
It looks like all three of them win and that gives the Democrats 51 seats in the Senate.

1. Only 74% of the precincts are in in MO.
Just a friendly reminder.

6. Hard to figure that state ...

It's a bit like Oklahoma due to the population and its distribution. You can be up by 10% one minute and down 10% the next, all because of one county.

14. Now 80%, and Claire is holding on.
I think we win MO and Montana. Virginia probably headed for a recount.

3. You think we got MO?
CNN has her down 49,000 with 71% reporting. I haven't been following that race as closely as VA, what am I missing.

11. CNN had it at 48-48 with 74% reporting
and then reverted back to 69%, and then to 71% with Talent holding a 3% lead.

12. That's what I'm wondering...
Latest results at Missouri Election Results show McCaskill down 40,000, with Clay, Hickory, Jasper, Kansas City, Maries, Pemiscot, Polk, Ray counties not reporting yet. Don't know population in these counties, or voting preferences, although one could hazard a guess that Kansas City county has a bunch of votes...

9. Early victor parties are unnecessary. Why not wait for the real thing?
Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 12:55 AM by keopeli
I hope we'll win. I even THINK we'll win. I'm right there with you.

And I'm going to scream if it happens!

But there will be recounts, at least in Virginia. We've got to hold on to our lead - legally of course.

16. It wouldn't be 51...2 indies...I think it's 50...
And, actually, MSNBC had some numbers up that showed a tie if we win all three, plus the two indies...not sure if it was right, though.

We picked up three seats so far, right? We need three more...

19. The two indies
Lieberman and Sanders will both caucus with the Democrats. They count among the 51 Democrats; so its really 49 + 2 against 49 Republicans.

18. Kansas City County just came in - 51,000 to the plus for McCaskill!
Reporting for the county as of 12:11:48 shows 20,850 for Talent, 71,712 for McCaskill! Puts her ahead (for now) by 12,500+ votes, with 48.7% to 48%!!!!!
