I'm sorry. I do not feel any better.
Once you have been raped, and once people have been murdered, there really is no getting over it, is there?

Right now, the fucking neocon corporate fascists are pouring more scotch, laughing, and saying: "Well, it was a good six year ride while it lasted. We did manage to empty the treasury and dump all of the money into the hands of Halliburton, pharmaceutical companies, polluting industries, and our buddies in the oil business. Ha ha ha. Oh well, maybe we will come back another day to trick all of the right-wing christian fools into voting for this bullshit again. Do you figure that enough people will ever figure out that we gave Hussein the chemical weapons he used to kill people and now we are going to hang him for it? Ha ha ha ha."

It will take decades, if not a century, for all of the damage to be repaired and I am still sick to my stomach.

1. Lots of work to be done. But it DOES MATTER that you start to limit the damage.
Less theft, less murder. Life is conflict and we have to keep our guard up and do what we have to do.

We're getting ready to cut the cancer out of government. We're going to investigate, investigate, investigate.

Yes, there is a ton of work to do but at least now we have some power to do it.

5. You have to start somewhere. I feel better. I agree with most of the rest
of what you had to say though. And I agree it will at least be decades. In Iraq, it will be never.

6. But, now, there's a small chance that all of the wrongs can be addressed.
Now, there's hope, and it has to start there.

10. lol! For some people winning is just as bad as losing!
You go find a corner to sob-oh-woe-is-you for the rest of your life. The rest of us will work on making things better.

What a genius.

11. 37 funerals I've attended, troops killed in Iraq.
I watched a father break down and cry "My boy! My baby boy!"

I watched a young fiance gulp in air as if she were drowning, while tears poured from her eyes.

And I have my own soldier-hubby still Iraq-mired.

I know how you feel.

But tonight shows you, me, our soldiers, the world, that America is NOT dead; the ideals we aspire to are NOT dead.

Tonight America is showing us all there is hope.

Not for the dead Iraqis & Americans from bush's invasion; not for the dead still to die from bush's invasion. But there is hope. And that is better than none.

I wanted to donate to DU tonight and I just donated in your name so you could have a star/search access and all that.

I can't imagine attending so many funerals. How heartbreaking that would be. I don't think I could even handle that emotionally.

I agree about tonight bringing some hope. Hope I haven't felt in a while. It feels wonderful. I hope the elected Democrats make us as proud as Americans have done today by electing them. They need to get to work and represent the OTHER half of this country that's been hopelessly neglected for about 6 years.

12. I agree. Our win only stops the damage. Now we need to keep it stopped and we need to repair
the country (not to mention the rest of the planet).

But this is a small first step. However, it's the first STEP we've seen in 6 years. I'm not overconfident. It's far from over. But at least it's not a defeat.

13. Fine. Hang out with 'Sterling'. He was too "upset" to even vote.
Don't investigate the criminals and have them imprisoned. Don't work to make things right. Don't ensure this doesn't happen again. That would take effort and you're sick to your stomach.

15. I Don't Either...
The 35-40% of the population Scares me. And I don't expect them to change anytime soon.

This country is far too divided, and I'm not sure the 35% will EVER give in.

My faith in this nation is much stronger than it was just a day ago.

19. Don't underestimate what a re-charged DEM party can do.
Yea, of course the neocons and rethugs fucked things up big time and there still is the tragic war to pull out of, but; I share a renewed sense of optimism and faith in our country. Middle America FINALLY realized that village idiots are running (WERE running) the country in the wrong direction.

It may take a few years, though for my 2 teenage kids I see a better and safer world today then yesterday. I hope you can be part of the solution and turn your rage into something positive. We need your passion to help shift things. And my stomach feels fantastic! Hope yours is better in the a.m. We are gonna wake to something far better!

Allow yourself to appreciate the value in that.

The healing will take time, but at least it can start now.
