Was it poor turnout, or did they pull the lever for those Devilish Dems?

1. I say both: I read rumors that 1/3 of them defected to the Dems
and let's face it, the Foley and Haggard sex scandals didn't do them any good, image-wise.

:kick:

2. Here in Oklahoma
I know several fundies who went Dem. Had the opportunity to listen to them reviewing their voter guides Sunday afternoon while visiting with a mutual friend who is visiting from outside the country. Apparently the sheeple ignorned much of the Sunday morning sermon the preceeded the distribution of those voter guides....

8. Not in the discussion I was a party to
Some still bought into the crazy religious fudie agenda. Others seemed to share many of our Dem concerns. Iraq. Jobs. The economy. The minimum wage. Not much talk of terror or immigration. Abortion and gay marriage weren't mentioned - but I think that was only to avoid the argument amongst themselves. Haggard was mentioned and discussed. Focus of this part of the discussion was that they felt sorry for his wife and kids and his congregation. Nobody really disillusioned by his conduct. Some of the fundies were delighted he was outed.

5. Since we don't know what they do in the closet
we don't know who they voted for in the voting booth.

Yesterday's election was a big win for all America including evangelicals, they just don't know it. Our constitution is a little more secure, even though those of the religious right persuasion have no use for it, they benefit immensely from it.

9. I would bet that in the privacy of their own personal self, they did the moral thing
and, at least some, voted in favor of our country instead of being fooled by their own personal bigotry.

I agree with your take on their overall lack of understanding regarding the Constitution, but how they benefit from it immensely.
