One stop shopping, fax and phone numbers and e-mail addresses.
Also info on where you can fax for free and info on petitions.
Please keep this thread for contact info only and put any new information as a reply to the correct category.
Many phone mail boxes are full. If you can’t find a way to leave a phone message, then fax and e-mail. Be ready Monday at 9AM EST to hit the phones.

71. probably but....
Out-Of-Paper Reception
Another instance where fax memory comes in handy
is when the paper cassette or tray
goes empty while someone is trying to send a fax.
In this case, units with memory will accept the fax
and keep it in its memory until you add more paper to the unit,
then print them out one by one.

Most average fax machines allow for up to 28-page 512K)document memory.
Other heavy-duty fax machines can store 700 pages in memory(8 MB),or more.

I'm sure they got more than 700 pages though!! lmao!
I'll be calling on the 1-800 toll free numbers again in the morning!

Key Republican Senators: Republican Majority for Choice members

Hit them hard.
Text of the statement by Republican Majority for Choice:
RMC Opposes Judge Alito for Supreme Court
http://www.gopchoice.org/index.asp

The Republican Majority for Choice (RMC) regrettably announces its opposition to the nomination of Judge Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court.

RMC is an organization whose core mission is to protect the right to choose as outlined in Roe v. Wade and to represent the millions of Republicans who strongly support this right. After much research and analysis of Mr. Alito’s own record and statements on this issue of individual freedom it is clear that he is an advocate for further restricting this right.

Judge Alito seems by all measures to be an experienced and capable jurist, but one who is out of step with mainstream Americans on the issue of abortion and maintaining the legal right to choose.

There is no crystal ball to predict how a Justice Alito would rule in future cases; therefore we have closely monitored the confirmation hearings with the hope that Judge Alito would offer some clarifying statements that would allay our concerns about his record. Instead, he side-stepped the issue of whether or not the right to privacy in the Constitution extends to reproductive choice. He avoided answering whether Roe was settled law and existing precedent required a health exception to statutes limiting a woman’s access to abortion.

Without such assurances, we can only calculate his judicial philosophy on reproductive rights through the prism of his past actions and statements. As the replacement for the architect of the “undue burden” standard, the stakes are too high for RMC to support an appointee who outlined a blueprint to dismantle that very standard.

The reality is that Judge Alito would not have to vote to overrule Roe in order to be the architect of the denial of a woman's right to choose. He could give lip service to respecting Roe while upholding the numerous legislative efforts to chip away at reproductive freedom. The cumulative result is that Roe v. Wade and its progeny are rendered meaningless.

But Judge Alito’s position on choice, however, is not the only disappointment surrounding his nomination. The selection of Judge Alito sends a very clear message from the Bush Administration and the Republican leadership in Congress that they are willing to continue steering the party into a marginalized corner that puts it at odds with most voters.

Sadly, we have come to a point at which average Republicans are beginning to abandon the GOP policy and candidates. We have seen this in the public outcry concerning President Bush’s opposition to stem cell research; we saw it last November in the Virginia gubernatorial race, and we will see it again this year if Republican candidates continue to promote extremist views. We pledge to continue our mission to promote common sense solutions to help lessen the incidence of abortion while ensuring that women and families maintain the safe and legal right to choose. We will no longer stand by while women’s rights are used as a political soapbox for either party.

Members of RMC:

Senator Lincoln Chafee (RI)
Senator Susan Collins (ME)
Senator Olympia Snowe (ME)
Senator Arlen Specter (PA)

45. Excellent free FAX site - can do broadcast faxes, to several Senators,
all at once. A real timesaver! The full list of Senators is not on the site yet, but it appears AndyTiedye may be able to get more names on there, so keep checking back.

With many thanks to AndyTiedye, who posted this great resource in ActivistHQ, here:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=106x26581

And here's a direct link to the site:
http://capwiz.com/thedeanpeople/mail/?id=235&id=696&id=622&id=11025&id=40039&id=10902&id=283&id=629&id=347&id=273&id=378&id=10748&id=523&id=370&id=31624&id=402&id=282&id=497&id=457&id=395&id=10892

It also has a page where you can mail off an LTTE to ALL local media in your area, by just entering your zip!

This is for you, AndyTiedye:

http://capwiz.com/thedeanpeople/mail/?id=3181&id=397&id=9482&id=46684&id=201&id=628&id=593&id=623&id=31613&id=10892&id=10748&id=287&id=310&id=292&id=688&id=537&id=249&id=453&id=454&id=361&id=202&id=159&id=235&id=696&id=622&id=11025&id=40039&id=10902&id=283&id=629&id=347&id=273&id=378&id=10748&id=523&id=370&id=31624&id=402&id=282&id=497&id=457&id=395&id=10892

The link above is reported to have all the undecideds (Dems and Repubs) + a few who have decided to vote for Alito.

When you get to the page, click on the link that says "Select Individual Recipients" and you'll see the complete list. Then, you can create your own list, using the checkboxes next to each Senator's name. Say you want to create a FAX message specially directed at the moderate Republicans. Select just those (unselect the others), then select FAX (it's the last selection in the three columns to the right of the Senators' names), scroll down and fill out the message information and your contact info. Decide if you want to be remembered next time you visit; if you want email alerts and if you want a copy of your message sent to thedeanpeople (they are a group working on vote count issues, not specifically working on opposition to Alito). Click to preview your message if you wish, then click "Send Message" and you're done! All the Senators on the list will be sent the fax - you don't have to send individual ones.

The explanation I gave above sounds more complicated than it really is to use the site. The site requires javascript to work. This is a great timesaver, imo.

44. Here are the local office numbers of the Senators we need to focus on!
I apologize for the length of this, but this is an emergency!
I know you are probably overwhelmed, as I am, with what is happening, but one
more time, PLEASE call the Democratic senators Monday toll-free at
1-877-851-6437 or 1-888-818-6641. Tell them you SUPPORT the filibuster!! Word has it that due to
overwhelming response to the Alito situation, many Senators have full voicemails
or have turned them off due to all the calls!!! So below, I have listed
alternate local offices for the Senators we need to focus on this WEEKEND!!
Remember, a lot of people's cell phones have free weekends and most have free
long distance, so this weekend would be a great time to call and leave a
message, but still call on MONDAY, too!!! Kerry is leading the filibuster, but
there are several DEMS who need a kick in the hiney to SUPPORT THE FILIBUSTER!!
We need to call them, especially--They are:

In addition, there are two Pro-Choice Republicans who might possibly vote

And for good measure, Contact Arlen Specter (PA), Chair of the Judiciary,
Pro-Choice, and the Republican who immediately called for the congressional
hearing into the legality of the President's wiretapping without FISA warrant.
If Alito is confirmed, given his view of Unitary Executive Power, these hearings
will be moot, because Alito will back President Bush. Refer to this and to a
woman's right to choose to carry a pregnancy to term when you call or fax!!

Remember that if there was EVER a time to filibuster, ALITO is it!! This man is
a danger to our country, our constitution, our rights and his placement on the
SCOTUS will ensure that Bush will continue to trample over our liberties!!
Remind the Democrats that their BASE, the grassroots Dems, demand that they
listen to us!!!

61. Even The GOP wants Bush to come clean about Jackoff > Link
The president has refused to reveal how much access Abramoff had to the White House, but has said he does not know Abramoff personally. Bush has said federal prosecutors are welcome to see the records of Abramoff’s contacts if they suspect something inappropriate, but he continued to release them publicly.

It is also the comments from the Republicans, who hold the majority in Congress, show that it’s not just Democrats who would like to see Bush come clean.

67. Please email this NO ALITO information to ALL your friends!
All of the attached information comes from the links provided by Mom Cat (Thanks!!) and other DUers. I went to all the links and put all the information together so you can copy and paste it into an email and send it to your email lists so non-DU people can use the information Now and on Monday.

Please forward this information to everyone you know!

http://www.democrats.com/alito-48

We need to stop George Bush from getting 60 Senators
to end the filibuster on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
We must convince 41 Senators to
either support a filibuster or stay away from the Senate
on Monday.

Below is a list of 44 Democrats, 1 Independent, and
3 Republicans whose support is possible - the "Alito 48."

Toll free phone numbers for all Senators:
These work 24 hours a day... You can leave messages at night if the senator's mail boxes are not full.
1-800-426-8073
1-888-818-6641
1-888-355-3588

HAND-WRITE letters on lined paper to support a filibuster and FAX THEM:
Especially to Byrd, who seems to think that "hand-written" means "spontaneous and non-partisan."
fax hand-written letters and then for good measure mail them.

If you're going to be faxing more than one senator:
1) Hand-write your letter, but leave the salutation line blank
2) Make copies of your letter
3) Fill-in the salutation line on each copy before you fax it

The lastest Filibuster count as of Sunday, January 29:
http://www.democrats.com/alito-48
Here are the "Filibuster 48" with their direct phone numbers. You can also use these toll-free numbers (and ask for the Senators by name): 888-355-3588 or 888-818-6641.
Ask this question clearly: Will Senator X support John Kerry's filibuster of Judge Alito, or will (s)he oppose Kerry's filibuster?
We need a firm yes or no - be polite but persistent.

Solid Filibuster Supporters who will Stand Up for What They Believe:

Hillary Rodham Clinton (D- NY) , 202-224-4451

Email addresses for all Senators:

http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

Free fax site:

http://capwiz.com/thedeanpeople/mail/?id=3181&id=397&id...

81. Senator Akaka's Office taking a poll
Just talked to Senator Akaka's (D-HI) Washington office. They are keeping count of those asking the Senator to support the filibuster. And if he cannot support the filibuster to abstain on the cloture vote.

Let's make it a large number in both cases!

Contact info for Senator Akaka:
DC office direct line: 202-224-6361
DC office fax: 202-224-2126
email: senator@akaka.senate.gov

And check out the game plan at:
