My wife took the freepers to task over Parkinson's...kicking freeper butt!
(good job Hun!)

Ok I wrote a loving poem to my husband and now I am going to vent some anger

This is not about my husband by the way. LOL. The last two nights I have read some incredibly cold and hurtful comments about Parkinson's and people with disabilities. Not on DU mind you...but on other boards. Here is my response:

Your ignorance is not only insulting its corrosive. Corrosive to me and corrosive to the people who know nothing about disability. Thousands of people walk among us who have to take extra steps to do the things you take for granted. And I am not talking about judgment...that takes no effort at all. Try empathy, it would broaden your horizons much more then the simple minded "shut their money off" and "they are all lazy" mentality. Thank the gods that you have insurance and a family who has not hit a wall with their own health. If you have experienced that and you still have the same opinion, do me a favor and give the most sincere hug that you have ever given anyone suffering from a disability. You are now the biggest obstacle they have to overcome daily. You chose to stand on one side of the fence and it wasn't on the side of solution.

How much effort did you put into your keyboard strokes? How many steps have you walked in someone else's shoes to get where you are right now? You have obviously never had to fight for what you consider to be a "normal" life. Be grateful. Every damn day be grateful. The fact that someone disagrees with you should be the least of your worries. The fact that you can get up and see the day as you know it is a blessing. Are we victims? No...we are not. We are the voices of change. A change that you will not and cannot embrace. You will be left in the dust like most of your prehistoric ideals. And why you are foaming at the mouth and gnashing your teeth we will be living our lives and doing what we can to make it better. And during the last backward glance over our shoulders we can simply say " You're still here? I thought you died out with the Republicans".

---end transmission. PS - don't piss off my old lady :)

2. They Haven't.

I had one of them email me about my husband out of the blue and I responded to him...which led me to the boards to kick some backside. I don't even know the guy nor have I ever spoken to him. They aren't to pleased with his disruption on the other side. But I don't care. Man I hate that kind of stuff. And freeper's aren't the only ones who have this mentality. Its rampant and I am so sick of it. Truly. Thanks for the response.

3. I think the insulting way that people that have public power, and
are negligent toward persons with disabilities, such as judgments, is appalling.
