GW Bush head-shrinking thread: Will he fall under Pelosi's spell?
It's well known that Bush has some kind of conflicted vaguely masochistic inability to cope with strong women. He gets giggly and juvenile and freaked out around strong women and does things like pawing the Prime Minister of Germany.

Yet he's not really comfortable with men either. He surrounds himself maternal figures (Hughes, Meirs, Laura, maybe Condi... though who even knows what's up with that) The only time I ever had sympathy for the chimp is when I ask myself what it was like Having Barbara Bush as a mother. He was probably terrified of "Bar" and clung to a succession of maids or nannies.

If the Oedipal theory of the Iraq war is correct GW was not trying to impress his father, he was trying to impress his MOTHER that he was a bigger man than his father.

I can't figure out the precise shape of Bush's neurosis with female authority but it will surely come into play with Nancy Pelosi. (Maybe Hillary for Majority leader is a good idea after all... he might explode)

Any predictions about psycho-drama aspects of the Pelosi/Bush relationship going forward?

6. I'm sure he already has one for her but we might not get (or want) to hear it.

I just want to vomit.
Predictions? I can't predict the dialog and blocking of a W vs. Pelosi confrontation in direct words, but I think it will have the look and feel of Blue Velvet.

3. Well, that's certainly food for thought. I think you're on to something that many of
us hadn't considered. But what you say makes sense, it does.
