Poll question: POLL Will the impeachment talk "Backfire on the Democratic party?"
We hear the talking heads say do the Democrat party remember how Bill's impeachment helped the Big Dog's popularity.

Do you believe the Congress investigation will help aWoL's poll numbers?

6. I agree
start with hearings and go from there I don't think debating it will hurt anyone.

3. Bill got in hot water about a BJ; Bush launched a war of aggression
In one of these cases, a lot of tombstones resulted. Which one is obviously more serious here???

17. What part of the temporal nature of the universe do you not understand?
It's not on the table now. It's been on the table before, and it will be on the table again. Soon.

21. Enlighten me
as to when in the Republican controlled congress impeachment was on the table. I'm glad I amuse you.

23. Those are your words, not mine. I simply said impeachment has been on the table before.
I didn't say anything about republican-controlled Congress. And you're really not amusing enough to be glad about it.

Also, impeachment will be on the table again soon. Don't let it surprise you too much.

24. Well...
How could impeachment have been on the table without support from the Republican controlled Congress?
Again Speaker Pelosi has said No Impeachment, I don't see how that constitutes it being back on the table soon. Though again, I'm waiting to be enlightened...

5. Uh, no
Check the MSNBC poll.

It's just too bad they didn't put a "Yes, but after the investigations into just how corrupt his gang has been have informed the country of what he really is," question in there. After all, they did find room for 2 negatives.

10. Do you mean this poll?
Do you believe President Bush's actions justify impeachment? * 340896 responses

Yes, between the secret spying, the deceptions leading to war and more, there is plenty to justify putting him on trial.
87%

No, like any president, he has made a few missteps, but nothing approaching "high crimes and misdemeanors."
4.4%

No, the man has done absolutely nothing wrong. Impeachment would just be a political lynching.
6.8%

I don't know.
1.9%

7. What "impeachment talk"?
As far as I know, no elected Democrats have talked about impeachment except to say they have no plans for it at this time. They have said they plan to do oversight investigations and that right now they don't know where those investigations may lead, but I certainly would not characterize it as "impeachment talk".

So what is the basis for your question?

8. Only polls saying "impeachment talk hurts the Dems" hurt the Dems
Just keep pushing the message by setting up polls.

12. This poll is to see if anyone is buying that spin.
I do not believe there is any correlation between the Political hounding of Bill Clinton and the necessary rebuke of aWoL and his delusions of nobility/godhood.

9. It it does, so be it--as long as justice is served
Like with Clinton, the first step is to determine if Bush has actually DONE anything impeachable. And unlike Bill Clinton, an investigator won't exactly have to scrounge and witch hunt for evidence. Georgie wasn't willing to sacrifice himself politically to draft enough troops to liberate Iraq effectively. We should be willing to sacrifice ourselves politically to ensure a proper and thurough investigation.

16. I watched All the President's Men the other night
I'm not sure how close it is to the actual events that happened and I was a very small child at the time. But it seemed to me it took some digging and then the events unfolded very quickly. The problem with Impeachment though is the investigations stopped. What would have happened if they kept digging into that administration, who knows what they could have uncovered.

18. What impeachment talk?
Pelosi has ruled out impeachment, Conyers has ruled out impeachment in fact just about every congressperson asked has ruled out impeachment. The only people talking about it are the airchair pundits in various blogs and forums, and the overpaid ones on TV.

Now if you're talking about investigations (an entirely different matter), I think those will hurt the chimp.

26. Not if they do it right
1. Invetigate, investigate, investigate.
2. Compile overwhelming, uncontrovertable evidence of lying to the public and Congress to get into Iraq.
3. Be fair: Always be willing to not go forward if the facts do not warrant impeachment and removal.
4. Impeach Cheney, too.
