I don't think Americans are finished punishing the GOP.
I believe Americans really want all the bums out, and want them to understand that they can't screw with US anymore. I don't even think it will matter much who we nominate. Americans want a clean slate, and the opportunity to see what Democrats can do to straighten out the country. Our citizens aren't stupid. They understand that Dems need a free hand to do the necessary work. That means having the presidency and Congress.

If Dems do their duty in Congress and pass true election reform, the Repuke cheating can be largely eliminated by 2008. That will mean, imho, a Democratic landslide of historic proportions. We'll get all branches of government, and the chance to bring this country back from the brink of destruction.

war or from setting up another terrorist attack in order to justify their evils?

4. Not going to fly.
They try that and impeachment proceedings will definitely begin. Jmo, but I think we have * by the short hairs. OK, call it blackmail if you will. The impeachment/indictment/imprisonment axe is hanging right over *'s head. He can't make a move before first checking with Pelosi and Reid. Heck, they're probably telling him when to take a pee. Payback is such a bitch.

5. This isn't payback, It's called BALANCE..
And as far as investigations go...Now that the Dems have taken control of both Houses
it is incumbent on them to do a forensic audit to see that of all the appropriations of
Tax Money and Bond expenditures were necessary and spent for the right reasons.

If you were purchasing a business, this would have been done before the purchase took
place. In this case scenario. The books have to be cleared first of all, and the new manage-
ment has a clean baseline from which to begin. Common Sense, is all it is.

9. Audits
The government should also commence an audit of all the war profits Halliburton and Bechtel have made from Bush's war. Every cent of profit should be taxed at a 100 % rate.

11. ABSOLUTELY...
Without a doubt, these purps thought they could go on indefinitely.
Hopefully bookkeeping is available to cross-reference all the paperwork
Cheney had shredded at his home, a few weeks ago.

3. Finished? I wasn't aware anyone had started! So far, the Rethugs
have damaged themselves all by themselves. But the real accountability starts in January.

6. Perhaps Americans aren't finished punishing the GOP.
But apart from the occasional special election, they can't do much for a couple of years. They may be finished by then; in which case dems have to show that they deserve to be rewarded (that's your frame; I largely agree with it).

7. With all due respect, I don't want that.
We saw what happens when one party gets too much power. How do we know the Dems won't get drunk on power with all three houses and start fucking up? I'd like to think they won't, but power corrupts and absolute power corrups absolutely.

The Repugnants were saying that there were problems with the country they needed to straighten out, but when they got the House, the Senate and the presidency, they became what they loathed. I don't want that to happen to the Democrats.

8. Well if they don't measure up, the electorate will throw them out as well.
One thing that must be ended, however, is the unchecked ability of media whores to shill for their own corporate interests, and against the interests of Americans. We definitely need re-regulation of the media.

I want transparency and honesty in government. The only way that can happen is for the truth to be exposed in an ongoing manner, through a real "fair and balanced" media, not a faux one.

10. After January, it's shared blame...
Unless we manage to really be on top of the message (it's THEIR fault, they're stalling).
