Should we pass a law banning foreign deployment of the National Guard?
After all, that isn't what they are for. The name's a dead giveaway.

1. I dont think an absolute ban would be good ...
But MUCH stricter limits would be appreciated by normal (un-neoconnish) people ...

2. Perhaps their deployment outside the continental United States, or even outside
of their home states, would have to be approved by some supermajority of Congress, and subject to review and mandatory revote every 6 months or every year or something like that.

3. I was under the impression that they weren't supposed
to be out of the United States anyway. But yeah, they belong here for domestic issues.

My Thoughts? I was thinking about the Guard this am. So many common Americans who were willing to sign up for regular Guard duty, weekends here at home occasionally - think...I don't really know their normal schedule but.....how many have been deployed to Iraq? Somehow on the news you don't hear National Guard troops. The entire situation is so sad.
