Poll question: If you could chose 1, which? Hague or impeachment
Let's play pretend. Let's pretend you could chose 1 and only 1 of these. Whichever you chose, you get. Which and why?

1. I vote for the Hague, in my pretend world of course

will be happy to get whatever so long as it involves having consequences for their crimes thrust upon them. So to speak. Edited to add, I think impeaching is too light of a consequence.

2. I said Hague because
it wouldn't tie up our political system as much, I may be wrong, but that's how it seems to me.

3. Trials at the Hague would do more for our global reputation.
Impeachment would be nice, but would probably just be seen as tit-for-tat for Clinton.

9. Certainly impeachment does not preclude criminal proceedings

But in the past, allegedly, executive officers have actually ASKED for impeachment *instead* of criminal proceedings. I think Nixon's VP did that.

5. He deserves to go to prison for crimes against humanity. Being
a stupid s.o.b. is not a free pass to life on a pig farm. My apologies to pigs, who are supposedly quite intelligent animals.

6. To the Hague with 'em,
Chimperator and the whole cabal. Their crimes have had and still will have international impact.
The world deserves nothing less in the way of justice for these criminals.

7. Impeach
Impeach, and follow through with a conviction. I would prefer we clean our own house.

8. If impeached, would he have to serve time? "our own house" vs world?
2 questions for you. If he is impeached, would he have to serve time? (this is why I feel impeachment is not enough of a consequence). By "our own house" do you mean USA vs Earth? Thanks.

14. Nope, he'll just go back to the ranch to clear some brush...
That's why I voted for the war crimes tribunal...I think with impeachment his lawyers will tie the thing up by saying they can't turn over documents or testify about certain facts because of "national security." By going to an international court, I feel the judges would be less likely to give any credence to such arguments.

10. Hague!
Impeachment may have a negative effect on dems for 2008. Plus, the crimes they have committed deserve much more severe punishment than impeachment.

11. I reject the premise of the poll.
We don't have to choose one.

12. True, you don't have to chose or participate at all.
This is a poll about a pretend, imaginary situation: if you could chose and if it were to come true. You do not have to vote or participate at all.

13. Yep, I know that. I read what you wrote. I do have to wonder, though,...
...why, with all the confusion already surrounding the reality of impeachment, you would want to add to the confusion. That's not an accusation, I'm really curious.

15. at this point none of our postings or polls have any impact on impeachment
or not. They are words on a computer, through the internets. They have power in that they can encourage us, or others, to work with/on legislators about investigations, impeachement, etc, but otherwise are only polls that mean not a lot. I was curious what people thought about the difference between impeachment and the Hague, in a poll about a pretend choice. I have my strong opinions and wanted to know how others felt.

17. I think popular opinion does have some impact, and our posts here...
...in a small way do affect the opinions of others. I think it's a good idea to keep our influence in perspective, but don't deny the influence we do have, even if it's only over each other. Will any given post here cause or prevent impeachment? Probably not. But don't believe for a second that we aren't used as a gauge of opinion by the media, activists and certain people in power.

That said, curiosity is the best reason to do a poll with an imaginary premise.
