Reid: "Democrats stand united against Judge Alito"
"Let me be clear: Democrats stand united against Judge Alito because he too protects special interests over America’s interest and has failed to demonstrate that he will be a check on presidential power."

Dare I read too much into that statement???!

Ack!

2. Reid, Kennedy, and Kerry should be saying
"forget that we're Democrats and Republicans, right now we're Americans doing what's right for our country." He'll never get anywhere with repugs when he draws party lines.

6. All that gets is "obstructionist" label.
My point is: We know repigs are afraid to vote against scalito. Saying "Dems are united against scalito" only makes the division more partisan and obvious. Unless he's only talking to Dems trying to shame them into voting the party line.

5. Not to be cynical but it sounds like waffling
We know the majority of Democratic Senators don;t want Alito.

The real issue is will they fight for their opposition?
