1. I really wonder why he's been so closemouthed; is he
thinking of his fellow citizens or his career?

3. Bayh want to run for president.
He has to take calls from everywhere understanding that the Left votes in far greater numbers in the presidential primaries and we don't forget bad votes. He already has an Aye: IWR vote anchored to him while he tries to float.

He will toe the DLC line and support cloture.

What an empty suit!

"support the filibuster" get out of my mouth, before he thanked me for calling.

Please call the lines are open, and it seems they want to hear from us. The young man I spoke with didn't ask where I was from, he just said thanks with a smile...... Call now, the lines are open!

I wish he would make it known what he plans to do- I'm sure there are many Republicans in Indiana hounding him as well.
I voted for him my very first time voting, regardless what a lot of people think, I like him, even if I don't always agree with him.

on edit: I used a local office number- the staffer spoke very quickly and thanked me as soon as I finished my sentence- they must be taking a lot of calls! Keep it up!

Very polite staffer.
When I said I was from Washington state, he said "Your opinion is very important to us." So they're noting opinions from other states. Said he hasn't made his statement on the filibuster yet.
Call him.

Edited to update

26. I can't get through the phones, so I submitted e-mail (again!)
Here is what I said:

Alito believes in the theory that Bush can, as commander in chief, do whatever he wants, whenever he pleases. Alito on the Court will be another rightwing rubber stamp for the Bush dictatorship.

How sad that the American republic came to an end not as the result of foreign invading armies, but to the lack of care by her citizens.

Please vote against Alito and against cloture. Support Senator Kerry!

Bayh makes himself scarce everytime there is a controversial vote pending. This is typical Bayh!

29. Done.
My great-grandfather would have hollered the man's ear off, but I just asked for Filibuster or abstain. (I don't care which.)

Since technically, I'm a landholder in central Indiana, I'm a constituent, even if I vote elsewhere.

40. The best way to get through it the Indianapolis number
1-317-554-0750

Give them the NO on cloture and Yes on filibuster on Alito

Be nice, their phones are ringing off the hook...tell them what state you are calling from and they will ask your name.

I called my neighbors in Indiana because I know DeWeenie from Ohio will tow the party line, it would be a WASTE of my time. I can be more useful calling oh say...Lieberman's office and letting them know that if he jumps the shark on this one, I will personally move to Connecticut to make sure he does not get re-elected..or something similar.

Keep plugging folks, it DOES MATTER, no matter how it turns out.

Vote no on cloture
Vote yes to fillibuster Alito (if it comes around)
Vote no on Alito no matter what

Screw the abstain stuff...no means no..abstain is weak.
