Does anyone really think that the neo cons will just give up their war?
Edited on Tue Nov-14-06 07:07 AM by Philosoraptor
Through some miracle of man over machine, the American people have said loud and clear, we want a new direction for our nation, and the war must end, and the government must be renewed and enough is enough, but, president cheney might think otherwise.

Although we haven't heard from his evil majesty in a week, we can assume his mood is less than his usual jolliness, and he won't suffer our foolishness gladly. He's gone to an awful lot of trouble to get to whatever undisclosed location he's in now, and he's making way too much moolah to be told by a bunch of citizens that he can't have his war.

Does anyone really think that we can tell the neo cons what to do? Does anyone believe that they'll say, 'O.K., fine, we'll just sort of slink away in shame and submit to the will of the people's voice and say good day', bullshit, these guys are certified monster maniacs, they will have to be MADE to obey the will of we the people, they'll do it the hard way, not the easy way, we'll have to actually make them go away.

If we want the war to end, and if we want order restored in our nation, then we are going to have to actually do it ourselves.

1. In case you haven't noticed
those craven bastards have been backing away from the war for nearly a year.

7. Not to mention, THEY aren't the ones fighting it...
...so it's real easy for them to live in a "disownership society" about the war.

2. I believe there's two believable explanations.
1. They don't give a damn and will push forward and grab as much as they can.

2. They want the Dems to clean up their mess so they can take credit for it next 10 year cycle...

I'm betting on 2.

3. The neocons' power, and Bush and Cheney's, is greatly diminished.
Rumsfeld is gone, along with some of his operatives at the Pentagon. The neocons are being openly discredited, even by the dread media.

I don't know what you mean by "we" have to do it ourselves. "We" did. We changed the makeup of the 110th Congress. We have restored some balance with this election. We have momentum.

6. Unless neocons start lining up to enlist and fight for their cause,
my guess is they need to find a new hobby. War didn't work out.

8. But being professional "War Hobbyists" is their stock in trade...
And there's always a bull market somewhere for that sort of bull...

9. Cheney
Rumor has it (based on a perceived ongoing chumminess between Fitz and Rove's lawyer) that Cheney will be offered as the sacrificial lamb in the Plame case, and then thrown under the bus. But not all is lost; between the war and Bush's tax cuts, the neo-cons have plenty of parting gifts.

11. They can't start another war now
I think they will go in the shadows again for a while, while they hatch their next plot, which will be Iran, Israel. There is more destruction they can cause over there.

But really, would be nice to not care what they are thinking. We have the ball now.
