Are they deliberately slapping us "radicals" down with this vote?
Sending us a message to toe the line? Telling us to siddown and shaddap? Informing us our calls, faxes and letters have been, are, and always will be meaningless to them?

They're all bought and paid for, and we remain on the outside, tapping on the window. Too bad nobody is going to open up the door.

I'm numb.

1. Me too. It's 2000 and 2004 all over again, and this time there's not
question that it was members of our own party that sold out.

10. Run qualified independent or 3rd party candidates against them
Then point out that your choice of candidate is neither a Republican nor a stealth Republican, but the only possible choice for progressives. Hammer that point constantly during the campaign.

3. this is why i remain so torn between/amongst parties
i hate to vote 3rd party because i despise the Republicans so much, but it just always seems to be most Dem. leaders aren't any different. people will deny this on any other day, but you look at today you just can't deny it. :(

16. Same here.
I register as a Democrat because I feel that I can, perhaps, swing the Democratic Party more progressive during the primaries but it seems futile nowadays.

I have always maintained that American style democracy is dead - we will never have an opposition nor will anything productive ever be accomplished while the Democrats and Republicans maintain a monopoly on the political process. I mean, what do the Dems have to fear? If we're not happy with them.. it's not like we can vote for anyone else. Unfortunately money is everything in politics. :grr:

4. That's how I see it.
Asshats forget who put them where they are -- all they pay attention to now are the lobbyists and corporations. We obviously do not matter to them.

I'm not numb -- I'm sickened by the whole thing.

5. Fuck it. I'm going to bed.
When I get up, I'm going to light a candle and say a prayer for my civil rights.

Then, I'm going to go from moderate compromiser to hard-line leftist.

After that, I'm going take my country back.

Extolling how Scalito sides with "authority" and how great that he comes down on the side of "police over agitators" ... THIS IS THE REVENGE OF ALL THE FUCKING NERDS WHO DIDN'T GET *ANY* DURING THE 60S, A TRIUMPH OF NIXXXXXXON'S "LAW AND ORDER" THUGS.

14. how I see it...
Republicans are rewarding their base with their straight party-line vote, and the Democrats are shitting on theirs.

Disgusted beyond words.
