"We'll succeed unless we quit" - George Bush on the lesson he learned on his recent trip to Vietnam.
I have tried to understand this man, George Bush, on many occasions as I am sure plenty of others have. Sometimes I believe that no, he is not an idiot; he is crazy. And then at times I think him to be crazy like a fox. But when I hear something like this statement he made about the "lessons from Vietnam" I have to conclude that he truly does have some sort of mental defect. He does not seem to have the ability to learn from the goings on in the world around him. He lives in a virtual fishbowl. He sees the same thing all the time just like a fish does when it swims around the same few fake rocks. The distressing part is the fish have an excuse. George Bush is not actually living in a fish bowl but he behaves like he is. I did a quick search of behavioral disorders and found this one to be intriguing.
Borderline Personality Disorder
Here is a description of it at Mental Help Net
IntroductionBorderline personality disorder is experienced in individuals in many different ways. Often, people with this disorder will find it more difficult to distinguish between reality from their own misperceptions of the world and their surrounding environment. While this may seem like a type of delusion disorder to some, it is actually related to their emotions overwhelming regular cognitive functioning, which is likely to create many conflicts with others.People with this disorder often see others in "black-and-white" terms. Depending upon the circumstances and situation, for instance, a therapist can be seen as being very helpful and caring toward the client. But if some sort of difficulty arises in the therapy, or in the patient's life, the person might then begin characterizing the therapist as "bad" and not caring about the client at all. Clinicians should always be aware of this "all-or-nothing" lability most often found in individuals with this disorder and be careful not to validate it.
"Now can you "catch it"? It seems like a ever decreasing segment of society has "caught it", (and not recovered from it) by their unwavering support of this president. Some people will follow this man right into Hell. According to John Dean in his book, Conservatives without conscience these people have "Authoritarian personalities". And the willingness to follow someone right into Hell is a good description this personality. At some point in the future I believe that George Bush will be discussed in college courses other than Politics and History. I think he will be studied in Psychology and Sociology.
It could be funny if it weren't so damn sad.
