and what might that perk be, in post-Abramoff D.C.?

Or with Alito headed for the bench, are all the pork lovers pulling back up to the public trough? Free money!

1. Sumpin like that
I don't know, too upset and disgusted to care right now. Surely there is something for them. Oh I know, maybe they will wear their "I am not an obstructionist" buttons that were handed out to them by Senator Frist?

I should not be here today.

2. "Obstructionist" sounds worse than "traitor"?
Maybe this all comes down to people who understand how the system of government (supposedly) works and those that don't (including Democrats willing to sell out the Constitution and the People).

Well Muse, if there is any consolation in knowing that things are at as low an ebb as we thought they were....... and it's time to go back to Square One. Malloy suggests:

5. He is right.
I was too depressed to listen to him last night but I should have, I got drunk instead (one beer is all that takes for me) and fell asleep by about 9:30.

Having spent the last 9 months helping to start a state wide board with chapters through out the state I can say that it is a TON of work, a pain in the ass, mostly frustrating but the very best thing I have ever done. We have to start there. This is just one GLBT rights group but we are getting a lot of attention and we just really have gotten started. It does work but I am afraid we are at a point when these kinds of things will be stopped or shut down. It is a bipartisan group though so we will see.

Have you read "Soul Of A Citizen" by Paul Rogat Loeb? I started it but have so little time to read these days that it is very slow going for me. It is so far excellent and so reaffirming that I have turned to it often these last few months. It may take me a year the way things are going to actually get through it but it is such a pleasant read and so inspiring.
