Blind item guessing game: Who is the closeted senator?
<http://www.blogactive.com/2006/01/mister-senator.html>

"This post will be read by thousands and thousands of people... It's directed at ONE person.

Mr. Senator:

Tomorrow you will be faced with a vote that may have the longest aftereffects of any other you have cast in your Senate career.

Tomorrow you will decide if your political position is worth more than doing what is right for others like you. For others like you, Mr. Senator, who engage in oral sex with other men. (Although, Mr. Senator, most of us don't do in the bathrooms of Union Station!) Your fake marriage, by the way, will NOT protect you from the truth being told on this blog.

How does this blog decide who to report on? It's simple. We report on hypocrites. In this case, hypocrites who vote against the gay and lesbian community while engaging in gay sex themselves*."

This was posted a few days ago about the Alito vote.

Your guesses below, because I have no clue.

5. Well, according to the clues
We know:

1) It's not a woman (duh).
2) He's not single.
3) It sounds like he's been in the Senate a while.

So you can eliminate all the ladies, Lindsay Graham (single), and probably eliminate with some confidence all of those Senators serving their first term (though you shouldn't eliminate it entirely).

16. Did you note the update at the bottom of the page....

"UPDATE: Some of you have asked if he will be outed tomorrow. No. The blog will report on this closeted Republican Senator between tomorrow and a time when it may most impact the reelection effort of the Senator. Just because the Democratic establishment has given up the fight for our Nation, doesn't mean this site will..."

Is it a Dem?

18. Empty threat?
Prove it, I say. The outing, if it's going to happen shouldn't have waited until the day of the cloture vote, and the update which again defers the alleged reckoning makes the threat less than convincing.

The Union Station reference is surprisingly specific, though, and I'm at a loss as to the purpose of the blackmail attempt if there weren't some truth to the tale.

19. "I used to be a DC callboy"
This poster sums it all up nicely...

Stop guessing, it could be ANYONE! I used to be a DC callboy and i swear we could have brought down the house pretty easily.
when i refer to them as little-dicked pricks, i know what i'm talking about!! (snap) This was a decade ago, but i suspect nothing's changed.
man, we outta get the "boys" of today together before NOVEMBER and shake things up!!!!

http://www.blogactive.com/2006/01/mister-senator.html

Yes, I think we ought to "out" ALL of them before the November election. "A decade ago" sounds like a continuation of the Bush White House "call boy" scandal exposed in 1989:

http://sf.indymedia.org/news/2003/02/1570946.php

Perhaps this might explain why Congress is so messed up these days. The possibility of blackmailing members of Congress by, oh, shall we say, a former CIA director to do the bidding of George the Torturer could account for fraudulent elections, "okie-dokie" torturing, "Civle rights? You don't need no stinkin' civil rights!"-type legislation, intelligence-operations exposure, and, yes, the big one: the 9/11 coverup.

23. That's just *my* speculation...
Perhaps I should have written, "Some people say perhaps a former CIA director..."

But really, who was in the White House in 1989 and who would have the wherewithal to do this kind of intelligence gathering?

24. Remember that child sex ring that was written about in that article
and the investigation that got deep sixed back then? I see that article posted every now and then. Makes you wonder if ole Poppy entrapped a bunch of legislators to keep them in line.
