4. I agree with you completely. The attitude of most Christians is

that their beliefs are the only valid ones and everyone else is either evil or stupid. However, I don't know what the OP was, because he/she removed it. :shrug:

must be sworn in with his hand on a Bible? Undermines American civilization? Come on.

Dennis Prager knows better and is just stirring up the pot. He's Jewish and a Republican. By his logic, a Jewish officeholder could be compelled to be sworn in with his hand on the New Testament. Would he be making a stink if Mitt Romney wanted to be sworn in using the Book of Mormon? This is anti-Muslim claptrap pure and simple and Prager's a world-class ass.

7. Well it isn't. In fact, there is a specific prohibition against requiring that sort of thing.

U.S. Constitution, Article 6

The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.
