Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the Iraq Study Group, led by James "the Fixer"
Baker and the 9/11 Commission panel? I'm sitting here reading the news today about how this Iraq Study Group plan is coming out today and all the recommendations that Dubya will look real hard at and I'm getting this incredible sense of deja vu. He didn't want either panel to be formed to begin with. When it did come to be, it was packed with people who wouldn't rock the boat for him. The study groups went/will go on a tour to give their findings to the public.

This Iraq Study Group report is going to go down the memory hole so fast and so quick, it'll make your head spin. This is another attempt to make it look like something is being done and in the meantime, nothing from the plan will be implemented. How long have we been waiting for the 9/11 Commission report recommendations to be implemented?

1. The ISG is a joke. That would make it the same as the 911 comm..
They are about to recommend stay the course until the next election. Great! That's a swell plan.

2. Yours is the most likely scenario
It is possible, however, that Bush will use this report to provide political cover for doing something different in Iraq (whatever that means).

But mostly likely he'll spend a long time considering and hope that everybody forgets.
