5. Thanks for the blow by blow. Pat and Kerry go way back
Rush was ragging on the ISG too. It was sick. He said something about talking to the animals ala Dr. Doolittle when referring to the US talking to Syria or Iran.

7. Al Gore was on this morning, too. Kerry is doing a good job -
Keeping the focus on issues instead of politics, answering questions really bluntly. I really appreciated his answers on the CNN show this morning. When he was asked whether an increase in troop levels would help he said, "No." The solution to this problem is not military, it never was military - it is political.

The Dems have to stay unified and work to break through the shit we are being fed about how the US is there to HELP the Iraqi people, and we need to threaten the Iraqis that if they don't stand up for themselves we are leaving. I keep thinking that it is like the student tasered at UCLA -- they taser him and then yell, "Stand Up! Stand Up! Stand Up or you'll get tasered again!" And, of course, he can't get up - so he gets tasered again.

"I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just and that his justice cannot sleep forever."
Thomas Jefferson (close paraphrase)

unless he's pissed off.

12. Yay for Kerry-one of the most underrated and maligned dems
Figures that most people prefer pretty dems to those with substance these days..
In keeping with the spirit of this country at this point.

Funny that you say that INdyOp..I was thinking of the EXACT same thing earlier today- regarding the tasering and yells of "stand up" by the LA cops and how similar it is to how the RW morans talk about Iraqis not "standing up for themselves" after we keep screwing up their country more and more!

22. Gore and Kerry make the most sense, stick their necks out the most, and get kicked at the most
by the GOPs, their mediawhores, and by the establishment wing of their own party.

8. He's not gonna give up voicing what needs to happen on Iraq because of a dropped pronoun.
The man has faced bullets, shoulder rockets, and death threats for his antiwar activities and his investigations for DECADES.

Sticks and stones and all that - fragility is for frauds.

23. blm. you are right. i am pleasantly surprised each time. i expect
him to walk away and say fuck it.... i mean what they did with swift boating and so many other examples with kerry. i expect that and always he keeps coming back and i think exactly that. he has had bullets fired at him. makes for a different perspective. i really value this in kerry. i forget at times.

13. Buchanan is LYING, you mean.
Edited on Wed Dec-06-06 09:18 PM by Opposite Reaction
He said "da Democrats" as if it was a unanimous vote, and as we all know it was not a vote for WAR, it was a vote to give authority up to and including a declaration of war if Bush went to the UN one more time. We all know that Bush lied about his intentions. The two worthless sacks of shit just sat there looking stupid letting Pukecannon fire away.

Edit: spellung

18. Actually the Iraq War Resolution required the Preznit to submit PROOF
to Congress that Iraq was involved in 9/11 before the IWR gave "permission" to invade Iraq. The Preznit sent a letter with "proof" -- full, of course, of damn lies.

So the IWR required PROOF Iraq was involved in 9/11 and the proof didn't exist and the Preznit LIED and it is the fault of Congress that the Preznit LIED?

Don't get me wrong - I think the the Congress critters should've seen through the secrets and lies that led up to the passage of the IWR - they should never have gone along with ANY part of ANYTHING Bush. Kucinich didn't. Dozens of other Congressmembers didn't go along.

And, still -- the IWR required the Preznit to provide proof of a 9/11 + Iraq connection.

I don't have a link, I've heard this several times on Thom Hartmann's show. Nice avatar by the way!

:hi:

19. Linky to resolution

Notice that Bushco is in violation of Sec. 3, (b), (1). Also note that in the Whereas section it refers to those countries that were involved in 9/11. This represents another way that Bushco is in violation of the section referenced above. There are other violations of the Whereas clauses. Basically, Bushco was to exhaust all other remedies before using war powers. They did not ever try to do so. It was a bait & switch.

NOTE: This is not an expert analysis. I know there are folks here that can riff broadly on how Mr. Petulent is in violation of the resolution. Bottom line, for this discussion, PukeCannon is lying as Conservatives always do. And the two robots and the Conservative host did nothing to correct him, making them all liars.

Ah, forgive me. I'm a little pissed. I usually don't watch the Schmo show for this reason.

Howdy, fellow Thom fan!! :hi:

Edit: The Link (doh!)

20. Uhm, no,
The IWR had nothing to do with 9/11. Bush was supposed to submit a Determination that all peaceful means to disarm Iraq had failed AND that Iraq was a grave threat. He wrote a letter to that affect, and that was that. But as long as Dems keep divvying themselves up based on 'voting for the war', Republians will never have to stop pointing the finger at Democrats. "Voted for the war" is so engrained at this point that there's almost no way to pull it back.
