A comment I left on repuke Jack Kingston's blog...
It may never show up since I'm a democrat, but after reading this:

http://www.crooksandliars.com/2006/12/06/working-seems-to-be-a-problem-for-rep-kingston/

It pissed me off. So I found his website, registered for his blog and left this message:

Here is your quote, sir:

Keeping us up here eats away at families," said Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.), who typically flies home on Thursdays and returns to Washington on Tuesdays. "Marriages suffer. The Democrats could care less about families — that's what this says."

I am the wife of a truck driver and we have been married for 18 years. Since my husband has been over the road, we understood it meant time away from home. He's been doing this for ten years now. Not only are we democrats, we are also veterans, and as much as we wished we could spend all our time together, we know it is not possible.

In order to make a living my husband has to work and stay out during the week. Sometimes he's been gone anywhere from 2-4 weeks at a time. Because of economics, his time away from home has increased. Expenses have grown and in order to meet these he's had to spend far more time away than ever before.

My husband was activated for the first gulf war and was gone for several months overseas. He had an obligation and regardless of our feelings, he left while I cared for our small children alone.

Sir, our marriage has not suffered. We understand that sacrifices have to be made in order to survive and meet our obligations.

I ask you, sir, to see that the job you have requires sacrifice. Your work affects Americans like us. You work for us and you were elected in hopes of improving our lives by way of dealing with those issues that have a direct impact on our lives.

Is it not fair, sir, since so many are sacrificing now, whether it's to put food on the table or serving this country in Iraq, that you sacrifice as well?

Here we go

Dear Congressman,

Every two years we hold elections in this country. You CHOSE to run for your seat, not to slough off and eat bom boms, you chose to apply for a job

You work for us.

Now please do cry me a river...

My husband retired from the USN, and we were married over the last five years of his career. One fine night, while watching the ceiling, I thought to myself, how long have I actually SPENT with my husband since we married? The answer may shock you. We spent 18 months together. The rest of those five years were spent in the service of his country.

Now, I also run my own business, a start up. I work seven days a week, three hundred and sixty five days of the year. If I get any time off, it is due to a family emergency or I am physically unable to do this, as in sick and in bed.

So you are complaining because they will actually MAKE you work? Cry me a river... it is time that we the tax payers got some work from bums who have been part of the do nothing Congress part II.

Oh and family values my ass. Most Americans work sixty hours a week, average, to put food on the table. Welcome to the reality that the rest of us live under.

Oh and in case you wonder, it was not easy to spend that much time away from my husband, but we both understood he was serving his country. You may try that. If you think you are physically unable to do the people's business, please do the rest of us a favor and resign.

Nadin

7. Solid Writing.... BTW, It Also Says:
If you don't want to do the job, resign and let someone who wants to do it, go in your place.

8. Yep, that asshole sure doesn't understand military deployments, does he?
What a fucking TOOL, frankly. I say if he can't handle the job, maybe it's time for him to step aside and LET SOMEONE WHO CAN HANDLE IT do the work. If he can't trust his old lady at home for a week or more, and has to run home to make sure she's not making google-eyes at the pool boy, maybe his marriage isn't all that strong.

He could always pull a SANTORUM and move the family to DC for the school year; then he'd see them EVERY day, and only miss them when he goes back to his district to meet with constituents. But gee, guess he doesn't like the school system in the District, and finds NORVA a bit pricey, perhaps?

No one drafted him to do the job--if he can't stand the heat, it's time for him to leave that kitchen!

damn I did tell him that over the last five years of my hubby's career I saw him a total of 18 months, and by the way, I work sixty hours plus, every week... he might want to try that sometime

11. I posted it above
I also sugested, as you can read, that he can quit... dmmn he IS a bad employee

Do they make us sick or what?

By the way... perhaps it is time for another fruit cake campaign.

(for those who don't remember, the pukes tried to ahem, prevent the dems from participating, and one Colorado rep called one of ours a fruitcake... a small bidness in Miss got the cake orders)

Or perhaps time to send him a binky...

;-)

maybe in this case, fake pink slips

12. Great letters!
Kingston really stepped in it. This is so typical of out-of-touch politicians who are so disconnected from reality, they're unable to see the total ridiculousness of their comments. This is the essential Republican-speak and mindset at work...it's all about me, me, me.
