A Young Republican Explains Why He Can't Go to War.
In this brief video message.

Enjoy!

Note: This is actually the work of a comedian named Eugene Mirman. But I think it's fitting, no?

1. I can't listen to the young punks out there
trying to justify working useless jobs here while cheering the war without flashing on Phil Ochs's "Draft Dodger Rag." It ends:

I hate Chou En Lai, and I hope he dies,
but one thing you gotta see
That someone's gotta go over there
and that someone isn't me
So I wish you well, Sarge, give 'em Hell
Yeah, Kill me a thousand or so
And if you ever get a war without blood and gore
Well I'll be the first to go

2. They supposedly believe this is a war to save civilization.
They think it is so important but are so good at coming up with excuses and "other priorities," like Chicken Dickie.

3. You think it pisses YOU off.
I volunteered for the military in the first place, and to come over here, pretty much on the "it might as well be me, if anyone has to do it" ethic. Read too many Victorian novels growing up, I guess. I can understand not wanting to do that, but being a jingoist warmonger while having that attitude really burns my muffins.

I guess it's progress; at least these idiots aren't like pre-WWI warmongers who actually thought war would be exciting and glorious, and just THIRSTED to go.

4. Over the last few years
I have challenged many of these chickenhaws, who by the way, do believe war is glorious, as long as they don't have to do it

As a wife of a USN vet, who served his country for 20 years, and retired in 2002... trust me, they make me angry.

I also served (somehwere else) as a medic, so I can tell you this... it ain't matter what language, as you well know... we all bleed red and it stiks all the same.

Over these few years we have only found ONE chickenhawk who was not a chicken... and actually put on the uniform.

So I can undestand the anger... trust me, I can... I share it.
