Bob Perry nation's biggest political donor
Houston homebuilder Bob Perry was the largest political donor in Texas - and the nation - in the recent election cycle, according to a group that tracks campaign donations.

Perry spent $6.7 million in statewide and legislative campaigns and $9.3 million on national candidates and committees seeking to elect Republicans to Congress, Texans for Public Justice said in its report. The group supports campaign finance restrictions.

The spending produced mixed results: Perry's money backed more losers than winners in state legislative races and nationwide, but the group of Texas statewide candidates he supported won.

"It's shocking," said Andrew Wheat of Texans for Public Justice. "Bob Perry is an ATM (For the Republicans)."

1. Dickhead Bobby Jack is my ex's cousin
I have known the sorry bastard for 32 years.

He is far worse than this article conveys.

6. He was fired by Baylor U for being TOO PREACHY
Imagine that.

Fired as an assistant football coach by the Nation's largest Baptist University because his nutjob proselytizing was driving the players crazy.

Then he took some circuit preacher job with the Southern Baptist and he was too nutty for them.

If I would have killed him the first time I met him, I would be out of jail by now.
And our Country would be a better place for it.

4. From the research I was able to do on the rat bastard in 2004
I found out his whole raison d'etre is changing the law so that people who buy his shoddily constructed McMansions won't be able to sue his sorry ass any more. He's the Tort Reform Kid and he knows the GOP is just corrupt enough to ram that stuff through.

The good news is that there as few people in this world as evil as he is.

7. I am surprised that you were able to find anything on him.
Or was your research on Perry Homes?

Last I heard, Perry Homes was the target of more individual lawsuits than any other homebuilder in the business.

8. You heard correctly
I did a lot of research on HIM and that led to the record of complaints against his building business. Nothing ever really dies on the net, so I was able to find archived news stories about his support for candidates who were promising tort "reform," support that hinged on that issue, alone.

It started when I uncovered his massive contributions to John O'Neil. If somebody makes me angry, I'm like a pit bull, I don't let it go. I can dig forever.

5. State and national Builders' Associations are among top 3 corp. lobbyists
And the ones I dealt with were Prime Sleaze. They could sit and listen to a 911 tape recording of a woman burning to death in one of their condos and shed not a tear, while testifying against mandated fire/smoke alarms, or fire walls between units. It's not that they wouldn't immediately just bump up their selling price to cover mandated safety features, it's that it's a matter of macho pride to get by with refusing to do so. You know the smartasses in school who would put more effort into preparing a cheat sheet for tests than it would take to simply learn the material? That's the homebuilders. And the ones active in their associations are not putting up Section 8 or any low cost homes - it's all MacMansions.
