1. What other charges? Can you refresh our collective memory?
I mean, I'll be blunt, I thought the Duke Rape Case was about rape charges. I guess just because it's the main event doesn't mean there aren't undercards.

Not that dropping the case is enough at this point. Nifong's looking at serious federal time for conspiring to deprive the accused of their right to a fair trial.

3. Kidnapping and sexual assault charges remain.

The victim changed her story about the rape allegation, so the charges were dropped.

6. WRAL on tv, Julia Lewis, says
that the alleged victim couldn't testify "with certainty" anymore that a rape took place, but the sexual assault and kidnapping charges remain in place.

5. Is this that case where those young men were on scholarship
trying to further their lot in life and they were accused of something and the national news leapt to assumption about their behavior and guilt based on their upbringing and their parents situations?

I hate when that happens.

7. Or it could be the one where the DA & public decided to believe a black woman

who said she was sexually assaulted by drunken frat boy types.

Depends on your perspective.

8. You'll ask people to feel sorry for that in vain.
Besides, and I'm making a point of being very fair here, it's not the fault of the people who thought it was a case of rich white trash who might get away with this, that Nifong was a bad, bad boy in his position of prosecutorial power to make it look like guilt was an absolute certainty.
