What ever became of the true statesmen ?

I have not heard anyone speak quite like JFK or RFK since they were murdered .

I tend to think if they lived we would never have been in Vietnam for so long and this world would now be an entirely different place .

No candidate we have today comes close to the powerful ,meaningful and hopefull messages today .

They did not need notes or ear peices , they felt what they said from the heart and spoke clear and unhampered .

How I wish this were still the case and what have we got , bush , how is it possible the public could have bought into this madmans antics and blatent outright stupidity ?

1. I can name two republican statesmen also

HOWARD Baker and his father-in-Law Senator Everett Dirkson. They were republicans but they were a different breed from the type we have today. They had class.
