Remember Davey & Goliath? I loved that show, even though it was a Christian stop action cartoon. Maybe because it was a liberal church that made it, and because it had a talking dog.

54. Numbers chapter 22; not a 'cartoon'
Numbers 22:23-33

Ironically, one of God's creatures could see and be obedient to God when a human didn't and couldn't; consequently the human beat the donkey for 'disobeying.' Scripture says God was NOT pleased with the donkey being beaten (so a good story against animal cruelty as well). He would have spared the donkey!

23 When the donkey saw the angel of the LORD standing in the road with a drawn sword in his hand, she turned off the road into a field. Balaam beat her to get her back on the road.

24 Then the angel of the LORD stood in a narrow path between two vineyards, with walls on both sides.

25 When the donkey saw the angel of the LORD, she pressed close to the wall, crushing Balaam's foot against it. So he beat her again.

26 Then the angel of the LORD moved on ahead and stood in a narrow place where there was no room to turn, either to the right or to the left.

27 When the donkey saw the angel of the LORD, she lay down under Balaam, and he was angry and beat her with his staff.

28 Then the LORD opened the donkey's mouth, and she said to Balaam, "What have I done to you to make you beat me these three times?"

29 Balaam answered the donkey, "You have made a fool of me! If I had a sword in my hand, I would kill you right now."

30 The donkey said to Balaam, "Am I not your own donkey, which you have always ridden, to this day? Have I been in the habit of doing this to you?" "No," he said.

31 Then the LORD opened Balaam's eyes, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the road with his sword drawn. So he bowed low and fell facedown.

32 The angel of the LORD asked him, "Why have you beaten your donkey these three times? I have come here to oppose you because your path is a reckless one before me.

33 The donkey saw me and turned away from me these three times. If she had not turned away, I would certainly have killed you by now, but I would have spared her."

http://echidneofthesnakes.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_echidneofthesnakes_archive.html#113882925255353913

"You may have heard the assertion that George Bush has coded messages in his speeches for his wingnut base. I think I have found the one in this year's SOTU speech. It is in this part:

BUSH: Before history is written down in books, it is written in courage.

Like Americans before us, we will show that courage and we will finish well.

Google the bit about finishing well, and what will you find? A sermon given by Jerry Falwell, entitled Learning to Finish Well."

10. Maybe this?
Slouching towards Bethlehem
W.B Yeats

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in the sands of the desert.

A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

14. Human animal hybrid is how they help Diabetics.
A little of gene manipulation and the pig pancreas creates an insulin that is more acceptable to the human diabetic.

Perhaps, in the future, people may be able to accept pig livers instead of dying on the waitlist for a human liver, or kidney, or heart or lung.

24. Let me share something about the AHH wingnuts
When I was a kid in the 70s, a prominent(? claimed he was) Christian scientist (not to be confused with Christian Scientist) came to our fundie/pentacostal church to "debunk" science. He claimed he could prove the Earth was 6,000 years old, carbon dating was a lie, dinosaurs walked with man, fossils were hoaxes, and the flood of Noah really happened because the Earth's atmosphere used to be covered in a giant canopy of water.

He went on to tell us that God had destroyed the people of Noah's time because they were making <drum roll, please> Animal Human Hybrids. The harpie, the minotaur, the centaur, the Egyptian gods: all of these things actually existed because humans of the time were amassing too much knowledge of science. The goal, he said, of science today was to bring back such AHHs and totally pervert the Earth, paving the way for consorting with demons.

I am not making this up.

48. I've got to admit; mice with human brains doesn't sound like a good idea
to me. From the article:
And at Stanford University in California an experiment might be done later this year to create mice with human brains.

Scientists feel that, the more humanlike the animal, the better research model it makes for testing drugs or possibly growing "spare parts," such as livers, to transplant into humans.

(snip)

Using a pig heart as a replacement for a human heart? No problem there. But making non human species with human brains....gotta draw the line somewhere!

they really do believe different species can copulate and have off-spring. It shows their lack of understanding in how biological creatures function. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and state that RWfundies are not biological creatures...maybe more like styrofoam or a geode.
