We will get rid of Bush. We have no choice. And it will depend on us.
Not only will we, and must we, get rid of bush/cheney, but their whole stinkin' program, and all those in power who cling to it.

To say we cannot do it is not only absurd, not only blind to what history has taught us, but also a form of cowardliness and defeatism that we can ill-afford.

For that to happen we need people-power, on a scale rarely if ever seen in this country. It means all of us who want the war to end, troops home now, a just economic system to unite to kick the bastards out, and demand change. This change may involve electoral change, but it must do deeper, people must be more involved than a simple vote on Election Day. It means mobilizing folks for street demonstrations (massive, peaceful, and persistent), cultural educational events for democracy & peace, talking and organizing with your neighbors, church members, coworkers... everyone.

People have already lost faith in this regime. They just need to know they are not alone, that they do not have to be mere spectators as this nation is swallowed whole by torture-loving, anti-Bill of Rights, warmongers, corporate greed-monsters that currently have power. These are not the values we live by. We must not allow this death-machine to continue.

"There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part; you can't even passively take part, and you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop. And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you're free, the machine will be prevented from working at all!"

I hope we can unite to protest Bush in DC (and elsewhere)on February 4th - http://worldcantwait.net - , and plan more demonstrations after that. There will come a time that we will go to Washington not for a day, but for as long as it takes (remember the Poor People’s March- same idea, only bigger with no single, vulnerable leader) to make our vision of a more just society more real, until our goals are realized.
