7. sounds strange, but...

i went to a Ford event in Buffalo in the closing days of the 1976 presidential race, and after the secret service grabbed me for reaching into my coat for camera, Ford came over and shook my hand. I remember being amazed (I was a Udall guy) at the amazing charisma of him- he looked strong, very presidential, handsome. I was so taken aback by his presence; i didn't expect he would be so striking.

i still think he shouldn't have pardoned Nixon- the domino theory- pardon Nixon, and all of the rats that occupied his celler that weren't indicted would come back to haunt us (CHeney, Buchanon, Rumsfield, Abrams, etc.)

May he rest in peace.
