Bush's Proposals for the *BRAND SPANKING NEW* Plan for Iraq
1. Remain the Line

2. Abide by the Course of Action

3. Tarry the Path

4. Linger with the current Trend

5. Anything else that sounds different than Stay the Course

1. Yes!! Here's my prediction: "The Way Forward"
Edited on Thu Dec-28-06 05:18 PM by Sparkly
1. TALKS -- to somebody about something, not necessarily relevent or productive.
2. ALLIES -- meetings with somebody about something, perhaps mentions of the UN or NATO, and definitely the Brits.
3. TROOPS -- more, fewer, or the same, moved around somehow; but plenty of talk about gratitude.
4. TRAINING -- Iraqi troops in some way that sounds different.
5. INPUT -- listening to lots of people, heeding let alone comprehending their recommendations not important.

I agree with you -- same policy, different dressing. "The Way Forward" is running in place.

(Edited to add: Now that more and more people are picking up on the fact that a political solution is the only solution, he'll give lip service to the notion of "political solution" but still insist we'll have to fight our way to it, "defeating the enemies of freedom.")

3. 5 more.
1. Wave flag.

2. Trot out cami clad generals (cami-clad even if they haven't left their office in D.C. for 10 years) who agree with you about anything you might utter no matter how stupid.

3. Bring on Joe Lieberman to nod appreciatively when you mention bi-partisanship or "working together".

4. Look as constipated as possible and talk about "heroic sacrifice".

5. End with the ever-popular "Support Our Troops" and produce tear in eye.
