Let's not forget that Saddam was able to maintain his power for so long with a lot of help from a few specific people.

1. no we are NOT. it is not in my name. I do not accept responsibility for anything other than
my own actions or those I endorse, advocate, or support.

but you can feel free to accept responsibility if it serves your needs :-)

4. I agree.
I am not responsible for actions that I do not commit, or at least support.

That said, I totally support this execution. If anybody has ever deserved to die, Saddam must be included in that number.

5. Ok .. so you support this execution
And therefore you ARE responsible for this execution, because you 'at least' support it ....

Food for thought: Perhaps NO ONE deserves to die .... including Saddam ...

9. Food for thought? Hmmm?
And perhaps they do deserve to die. Ever think of that?

By the way, what is you opinion of what President Bush should get when they haul him before the Hague?

Bush should NOT be executed, but charged with whatever crimes for which evidence exists ...

And IF convicted, he should be incarcerated .... NOT killed ...

11. Fair enough.
I, on the other hand, think those guilty of war crimes should be executed swiftly, not allowed to die peacefully in their sleep in prison.

Whatever happened to Slobodan Milosovic, by the way?

2. No, it really is
those of us who call ourselves patriots and believers in the founding documents of this country should have made a citizens arrest on this crew a long time ago. History won't judge the individual but the Nation.

6. Agreed. Those who believe dissent equates to dissociation fail to comprehend democracy's ...
... "social contract," imho. Such a posture breeds a kind of codependency, imho ... a dysfunction in our body politic. We are, I'm afraid, a very immature society - like spoiled adolescents.

7. You can disavow responsibility if you like, if it makes you feel better,
but other people all over the world do hold us individually responsible. And they are right to do so.
